Re: Anti Freeze

I always use the Blue 2 year Bluecol mixed with distilled water. Although finding Bluecol is getting more difficult.

Re: SNG Barratt

Welcome Julian, good to have you part of the Forum officially now! My V12 OTS is made up of a large proportion of SNG parts and it's always growing! One part you could consider manufacturing is the hat shaped unit that goes inside the oil filter canister, that goes against the spring. You can't get ...

Re: s3 under bonnet air scoop

If its the front scoop under the nose of the bonnet, the removal and replacement of the whole underside panel/scoop was covered in a wheeler dealers episode on the S3 E Type.

Always use 20W50 Valvoline VR1 Racing oil. As recommended to me by JD Classics.

Re: Brake Master Cylinder?

Thanks Colin, Going to explore the Master Cylinder first and see if any issues there and probably use a master cylinder kit to replace the seals anyway. Plus still the possibility that the brake fluid boiled! Was a fairly hot day, by UK standards (26 deg C) and was in a convoy of cars, stop start in...

Brake Master Cylinder?

Took my series 3 OTS out on National Drive it Day on Sunday to do a 50 mile rally around the Essex Countryside. Final destination should have been Stow Maries an old WW1 airfield/museum. Anyway, after driving about 20 miles in fairly warm conditions (26 deg C) and stop start because of a large numbe...

Re: Hard Top for Series III

Agree with David. I have an original factory hard top that came with my 1973 V12. I know it's original as I managed to track down the first owner and he confirmed it came with the car new as an optional extra. I have seen genuine hard tops fetch £2500 but if you have an OTS you tend to use them in g...

Re: Recommendation for Mechanic near Southend-on-Sea, Essex.

Great shout Simon, but I would have to re-mortgage the house to afford JD prices!

But without doubt people who know what they are doing.

Thanks for the advice. But looking for an independent Jaguar specialist charging affordable prices, if that exists! :scratchheadyellow: and close to home.

Recommendation for Mechanic near Southend-on-Sea, Essex.

Looking for a good Jaguar mechanic in the Southend-on-Sea area, that can adjust/shim tappets and properly tune a Series 3 OTS V12. Any ideas/recommendations.

Thanks

I totally lost all links. The old link didn't work for me. Eventually found the new link on the E Type Club website.

Size of fuel pipe to Carbs

I am going to replace the fuel lines to the carbs with flexible braided type as one side has sprung a leak! Can anyone confirm the diameter of braided fuel pipe that I need to get.
Thanks

Hi Gary, The only other solution I could think of was adding some Redex petrol additive into your fuel tank. But I think in the end taking the carb apart and either replacing the float or the valve (or both) will be the answer. Mike

Got the same problem, so will be interested to find a solution. But I think that taking carbs apart will be the way to go unfortunately.!

Hi Christophe, I had a similar problem with my series 3. It was running too rich and the fumes were petrol vapour. However, do not discount problems with leaking exhaust gasses getting into the car. Have the exhaust and manifolds checked for leaks and check the carbs are set up/tuned correctly. I am...

Automatic Transmission Fluid Type.

Hi All,
Anyone know if you can use Dexron 11D Auto Transmission oil in a series 3 Borg Warner auto box? I thought you had to use the old ATF oil specifically recommended for the Borg Warner box.
Thanks
