Re: USA e type

I would suggest this website for UK focused adverts, its free.
https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/list/22/e-type/
Having recently imported i can say any UK buyer will need to spend circa $4k to ship, insure and pay duties, plus if they want to have it convert to RHD professionally another $7k,
Good luck

Re: Importing V55/5 Reg document pic ?

I went through this process in October, i arranged a letter from the JEC confirming they were satisfied it was original e type car, which i included in my V55/5 submission, but a few weeks later the DVLA wrote and said i needed to arrange for an inspection by SCS. So the JEC letter did not help me a...

Re: S2 brake calipers for S1.5 car = no fit?

Thanks for confirming, i was talking about the fronts only, shame about the answer, so i will have to consider 4 pots, good job i did not bid on the S2 calipers, i had read that my front calipers then moved to the rear are an upgrade on my current setup

S2 brake calipers for S1.5 car = no fit?

Just checking that series 2 calipers wont fit my series 1.5 car? Series 2 calipers seem to come up on ebay at not too much money, £xx. But If i want better calipers i need to buy 4 pot calipers for £xxx. Is this accurate?

Re: Phone / sat nav adaptor

I am pretty sure no such adaptor will exist. Why not convert the car to negative earth, or try powering the satnav from a mobile phone external rechargeable power pack. When you say install a 12v socket, do you mean another cigar lighter fitting but wired for negative earth? If you do you would need...

Re: SU conversion on 1968 S1.5, what thermostat housing to use?

Thanks for the info, i dont have the S1 4.2 thermostat, it was not on my shopping list, which already grew and grew. I bought the set of SUs from SC parts, https://www.scparts.co.uk/sc_en/british-cars/jaguar/e-type-series-1-and-2-1961-1970/competition-parts-and-accessories/carburettor/carburettors-1...

SU conversion on 1968 S1.5, what thermostat housing to use?

I am a newbie here and this is my first post. I have recently imported into the UK a 1968 series 1.5 which is being converted to RHD and next i am to set about removing the twin strombergs and install a triple SU set up. I did not buy the kit as there was very long lead time and i also thought the k...
