I spent 14 years in the exhaust business,so a few tips,some are repeats that others have posted.Get yourself a 3/8 drive 18" extension,& a wobbly 9/16 single hex socket.The downpipe nuts were brass,so shouldn't be seized,if they are,cut through the front pipes,& take the old exhaust off.If you have ...

Not got round to this yet,been busy with other bits.I know this is stupid,but,does anybody have a picture of this seal ,the correct way round?I looked at 2 cars,& they were different.

Welding of aluminium is not a problem,I employ a few welders,& have full workshop facilities,when they are working.I have had more thoughts on this,& decided to make a stainless insert,out of a stainless socket head cap screw,with an outer thread of M20x2.5.This will then be machined to take a sump ...

Thanks,but the sump is off,& cleaned up.Plan to drill,& tap some 1" aluminium rod,5/8 UNC.Bore the sump to take the bar,cut bar to required shape inside the sump,weld it in there.Job done.

Sump Plug Stripped
Getting close to the end.Warmed the engine up for an oil change,undo the sump plug,& it is glued in there.It haspreviosly been helicoiled,so,it is past help.What was the original thread?5/8 UNF?Going to machine a bit of ally rod,& weld it in there.Any better sump plugs,& sizes?TIA

Thought I posted this yesterday,seems to have gone missing.
My S3 Roadster has got really old Pirelli tyres,I am going to put a new set on,E70VR15,in either Dunlop SP,or Avon CR28 Sport,neither are cheap,but the SP looks right.Has anybody got experience of either of these?

OK,I know this has to be the silliest question ever,but, my spare wire wheel,should it sit dish up?,or dish down?.If it sits dish up,it is more unstable,but easier for tool storage,dish down,sits low,& flat,but not so good for tools.TIA

I have got new sill rubber seals,the straight ones under the chrome strip,are these glued in?or just clipped under the chrome strip?if glued,what glue is suggested?
