Re: V12 ECU

Re: Crankshaft Pulley
I finally found one on Ebay, in the US. I hope now that the old pulley can be fixed on the xjs part without too much problem. I ll keep the forum informed😀 Go the pulley last Friday. Close to the XJS one, https://i.postimg.cc/V659hDmQ/20191027-102212.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/d0fZhvPp/20191027-120051...

Re: Crankshaft Pulley
The xjs engine is a 1989 one and i use the late kind of water pump. I do not have issue on this side. Only on the oil tube comming from the oil filter. I m far from home. I will try to take pictures closer when I m back. I can show at least this one : https://i.postimg.cc/prSwftgn/20191013-154021.jpg

Re: Crankshaft Pulley
Hi Paul,
Thank for your proposal.
Maybe. It depends from the 3d pulley diameter.
It has to be smaller than the 2 other ones.
I m waiting for your picture.

Re: Crankshaft Pulley
Hi Peter
The problem is more that the belt touch the large tube coming from the oil filter than the rev speed from the steering pump. As you said it should work even if it is a bit low.
Because the diameter is larger on the engine side, the belt is too down.
Hope my explanation is clear.

Crankshaft Pulley
:hammerdrill: This morning new water pump in place on the xjs engine from my S3. I though to be on the way to finish the front of the engine, place the belts, the alternator the radiator and then plan to work on the next step : the wiring looms. I m now stuck because of the crankshaft pulley. The 3d...

Yes you're right, 3mm will be too rigid.
Thank you Philip.

Re: 130A alternator upgrade
At the risk of pointing out the obvious, installing a 130 amp alternator seems unwise. Let's look at the possible demands. Headlights on full beam. 10 amps. Side/rear/no plate/instrument lights....say 5 amps. The brake lights are on..4amps. Indicators on... another 4 amps. The heater blower is on.....

Re: V12 ECU
Have you finally decided where you are going to place the ECU and how you will do with the long xjs loom ?
As E Type UK, under the seat sounds to be a good place.

Re: Which connector is this?
Hi Michel My car is parked at my local Jag dealer but I will try to pop around to get pics for you. I use the original fans. There is IMO no need for high power VW fans or the high speed they offer .... IF .... the cooling system as a whole is good and correct. Consider that my car has aircon and i...

Re: Which connector is this?
Thank you to post an answer. I started from so far on my restoration that I’ll not have a 100% original car anyway. I’ve an XJS engine (I'm still questionning myself :scratchheadyellow: about the ECU to be used. We already have exchanged about that)and a Getrag gearbox. So I’m already very far from ...
