Sorry, I’m a bit late to this thread. Peter, I have an original wheel, complete. The wood is not varnished but waxed. The only area where it has been altered is there are more holes around where the wheel attaches to the boss. They would be covered up anyway. I’m happy to sell, if it suits.

Thanks Jeremy. That’s the point, having to dry out your sheets every couple of weeks despite a dehumidifier. Safest place is in the boot, under the rear panel. That’s where mine is. Why put it under the seat. Less room, less accessibility, and not really convenient for the loom.

With respect, listen to those of us that have cars fitted with either option....I’m in the 4 speed / 2.88 camp! Brian’s knowledge is indeed encyclopaedic, but I am reliably informed, not necessarily personal experience on V12’s.

Top gear (4th) with a 2.88 diff I am doing 3000 revs at 75. It works out at 25mph per 1000 revs. However, I am running 16”x 7” wheels with 225/60 Tyres.

Umm, not my experience with Mr Blor. Rude and arrogant. Ask New Forest Classics who were out of pocket by several thousands of pounds. The problem is that it is based on a Tremec T5, with the 5th gear changed to suit an appropriate ratio for an E-type. All a bit hit and miss.....
