Hi all, After disassembled the back of the car ( rear axle etc..) and checked were the oil could came, I saw some only near the diff cover. Once fit out there were oil between the cover and the seal on the right. That was my leak. The cover lightly twisted and bad reassembly... Lot of work for small...
Oupsss !
The description tell us : The original color of the car was in Opalescent Dark Green with the Suede Green interior. At least 30 years ago, the car was painted it in this "lovely" Lime Green color and it can be yours at "no extra charge". Good humour ! http://i1296.photobucket.com/albums/ag8/broussal...

Hi Geoff, It don't fit because it's a little bit larger and also you can't fit the brake caliper. I check on the gear and it's a 3.07. My OTS arrive in a few days from US and in the year 1963 the axle was 3.31. With my FHC I'm used with the 3.07, it's very nice and smooth to drive with. I'm going to...

Hi Geoff, Thanks for this complete answer. I tried to find something myself before posting but the technical language is difficult for me. You'r right I think also the one on the second photo looks like mine. For the ratio I'm sure there is 43/13 on the tag but I'll open the rear cover tomorrow. I'l...

Hi all, There's 23 years old I bought this final drive in UK. It was a good oportunity to change my 3.31 to 3.07 on my FHC 1965. Months later I tried to fit it but it doesn't work. Impossible to join the seller... So I have it but I don't know on what car is it fitting. Do you have an idea ? http://...

Rear axle leakink trought the breather
Hi all, I post again this topic because I realy need you for my problem. If I put into my 1965 E Type's rear axle 2 3/4 pints of 85/140 Hypo?de oil it leak through the breather when I drive. It pollutes the right side brake pad of course. With 1 3/4 it don't leak but this is not recommended. I notic...

Hi Mark, I don't realy know if it's rare but sure it's expensive. The car is still at NY so I'm waiting for the sentence. Even if you have a lot of photos, the reality is better. Hi Andrewh, If you'll go to Parthenay ( between Poitiers and Niort ) you'll be welcome. Not the greatest French land for ...

Hi Carsten, Thanks for this reply but the leak is not here. The oil flows out through the breather and not by the seals. Since I get the car I fit out the rear axle 3 or 4 times and it beguin to be a pleasure instead of a challenge. I love British old mecanical. I'm used to explain my friends that I...
