Maybe this noise is comming from the valve tappets because of to much wear of the "tappet-piston" and the "tappet-cylinder".

Maybe with an uprated front anti roll bar and an additional rear anti roll bar the handling would improve ? The series I had a rear anto roll bar. Later cars had this not. Does anybody know why Jaguars has left this ? Has somebody mounted uprated anti roll bars in his e-type ? Results for a better c...

I agree with MarkE. Maybe the eagle, which we can see in the video, is cornering quick, but very stiff and uncomfortable. I also think, that Eagle company is not producing tuning parts. They are buying these parts from the producer or dealer like Rob Beere, we all know well, and mount into the car. ...

David wrote, that it would be difficult, to improve the handling of an E-type. I don't think so. Watch this. I think you all have seen this ten times. http://jaguarstypeparts.net/top-gear-aston-martin-db5-jaguar-e-type-part-2-of-2/ Thes e-type was technically uprated from eagle. It seems, that the i...

It is depending, what you want. A running motor, a good solution or the best solution. I think that the new programmable 123-dsitributor is the best solution. You will have some effort, to make it properly work. The exact need of preignition of the motor you can roduce with an electronic programmed ...

Hallo David ! 1. How much is the Lambda or AFR , when you are cruising with 60 / 70 / 80 / 90 mph ? My V12 is running lean up to 120 mph. Maybe the AFR of your car is like it has been original, to less lean ? 2. If a car has more power AND you use this power, the milage per gallon must be lower. Thi...

Hello David ! You have written: "Fuel consumption averages 15.3mpg and has to be super-unleaded (9.5:1 compression), dropping to 14mpg at 90mph cruising in 5th gear and 2.88 diff." I have a EV12 roadster with a 6,0 L V12 with 4 Stromberg's, a Getrag 5-gear box, and a 2,88 rear axle. At a cruising sp...

I I have a similar problem with my EV12. Wire wheels must be fitted to the machine with a OUTER konus, which is pressing to the outer side of the center. Like the wheels are fitted to the car. Normal adaptors are pressing inside the center of a wheel. Often the mechanics in the wheel-balancing compa...

I have done a conversion to a 6,0 motor in my EV12. The motor is working great and has much more power than the 5,3. O sunday we had a sunny warm day and I have done a acceleration-contest with a 400 hp Maserati Quattroporte of a friend. We started with 50 mph and stopped at 100 mph. For my big surp...

Since I put "high-grade" gas /Superplus in Germany with 98 octane) in the car and with another minor change in the vacuum system, the pinging has reduced a lot. O sunday we had a sunny warm day and I have done a acceleration-contest with a 400 hp Maserati Quattroporte of a friend. We started with 50...

i]"My XJR-s 6 litre pulls like a train and gets 25mpg on a run...and I do use it quite hard, and it weighs 2 tons!" [/i] Congratulation for this high mpg. Is it really true ? The gas consumption of a 6,0 Limousine is round about 15 mpg. How can this be, that this XJS takes 40% less gas ? I have a EV...

6.0L Engine in S3
We have mounted the 6,0 liter motor from a 1993 limousine into my EV12 OTC together with the original Stromberg carburettors. Has anybody done this also ? How has he done the "vacuum steering" of the ignition ? My car has a strong pinging when accelerating. I have mounted a simple rubber hose from t...

I also believe, that the OPUS amplifire causes the shut down. Maybe it will help, when you mount it on the frame in the front of the motor, that it is cooled by fresh air. Maybe this helps. The best solution would be the change to the system, sold by Barratt for roundabout 400 pounds. Outside the am...

I have done such a change in the steering assistance of the EV12. It take s 20 - 60 minutes to do the complete job. Disconnect the power-pipe from the power-pump to the steering. Screw out the big nut. If you press your smallest finger inside the hole, the power of a spring will press out a power-va...

I have done a change to a better steering-feeling on my EV12 OTS with a simple and cheap change in 30 minutes. 1. Dismount the hose from the servo-pump to the steering rack. Some hydraulic oil is comming out. I can't remember well, but maybe you have to dismount another screw, unless you can pull ou...

These pipes are "taylor made" in stainless steel by a company, which is producing pipelines for the chemistry industry. On the picture below you can see, how we have worked on the two front mufflers. This looks simple, but is effective to get a better sound. I am the laughing guy on the left side. Hello Will "Anyone out there with any experience on this issue ? " I am from Germany and you have to excuse my poor english. I think I have some experience with "upgrading" the original sound of a EV12. In Germany we say: a real sportscar must: 1. accelerate very good, 2. the chrome must shine, 3. t...
