Can anyone post some picture on what the "stamped - Left - Right" sign on either torsion bar should look like.
Cannot identify anything on my car's torsion bars. On either end or on either side...

Re: Ride height - Torsion bars
I used the measurements as explained in this thread :http://forum.etypeuk.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=10726&p=85789&hilit=rear+height+measurement#p85789 for "deciding" on whether the rear ride height on my car was ok. Will take adapt the torsion bars settings and see whether (it really should) the front...

Ride height - Torsion bars
I put my US import 1966, series 1, 2+2 on its wheels (modern 205/70/15) out of the car port I restored it in and noticed that the car was not sitting right. Read up on the forum and already know that I will have to jack the car back up at the rear, and undo all the bolts, drive it until it sits and ...

quarter light hinge pillar seal fitting
I have already had to order a new quarter light hinge pillar seal, since I messed up the first one that I received in trying to get it to fit. Applied the usual tricks with soap and oil and when that didn't work, I tried to cut down (=messed up  ) the seal so it would fit the chrome finisher. ...

Re: Gibbo21 from Italy Jaguar E S.1-1/2 4.2 OTS
Just guessing, but I think the "drop down instrument" is the "gauge & switch" panel centrally on the dashboard. You can "drop" this by undoing the 2 screws on the top 2 corners of the panel. The original color of the car can then be seen on the bulkhead.

Re: broken automatic fly wheel or drive plate
I think the part number you require is C18517*. Then again I've been know to be wrong. I have one which came with my 1966 2+2 4.2 automatic, which I can sell if you want. My car (minus engine) had been in storage since 1983 when I got it with that flywheel inside a box of parts. https://s7.postimg.o...

Re: Bonnet hinge brass fitting
I just got a mail from SNG, in which they mention that they tried out the bolts they supplied on the bonnet support frame and they screwed right in. I did not know upon the metric thread until I read it in this forum (=here is to hoping I read it right), so I guess there must be frames with a Imperi...

Re: Bonnet hinge brass fitting
I got the bolts out. Both sides. But the thread is completely gone. Considering the bolts have a 9 mm diameter, I will see first if I can drill out the hole to 10mm and rethread. If not, guess I will try heating as you suggested.

Re: Bonnet hinge brass fitting
I have a similar problem with the "bonnet hinge bolt fittings" on my bonnet support frame. Basically the thread is completely gone on both sides. Which I discovered on the day I had invited several friends over to help me fit the bonnet. No worries, I have a "rethreading tapping "kit. So I...

Banjo fitting directions
After test running the engine a couple of times I could notice a strong fuel smell. I could trace this back to a leak from the banjo bolt on the bulkhead connector. The fuel pipe coming from the fuel pump is OK. The connector through the bulkhead is new, as are the banjo bolt washers. The "female ba...

Re: crankshaft damper fitting
Thanks, your comments made me check some older pictures and could find that the damper doesn't completely go onto the cone.
I could confirm that with tightening it as much as I could, I ended up aligning perfectly the pulleys for waterpump and alternator. So happy days!!
Cheers

crankshaft damper fitting
Removing the crankshaft damper couldn't have been easier. I soaked it in penetrating oil and left it overnight, which meant that the next day, when trying to "install" a puller tool, the damper literally fell off. But although that I have seen plenty of posts on crankshaft removal, replacement etc.....

Re: Front Crank Seal Fitting Tips Please
Well, I am at the stage where I lifted the engine up, about 10-15mm, and have the sump loose from the engine - there is around a 10mm gap at the rear and up front the top edge of the sump is far below the timing cover bolts. But no amount of pulling, pushing, sliding etc have made it come of complet...

Re: Clock this time...
I had to fill in a "invoice for customs purpose only" when I shipped the clock to Mike. The invoice allowed to mention clearly that my clock was about to be repaired and returned to me. So making clear that I did not buy a new clock in the US. I could see that the "customs invoice value" from Mike, ...

Re: Fuel Injection Jenvey Throttle Bodies
Emerald have been most helpfull. No problems with them whatsoever. The problem was that I could not get replacement parts for the kit since Mr. M was somewhere in Greece. As soon as I get the replacement parts, I will get onto Team Viewer and do some long distance setting up with John from Emerald. ...

Re: Fuel Injection Jenvey Throttle Bodies
Nice to hear everything turned out OK. I wouldn't fork out any money anymore if it is running this great. Basically, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. I have been trying to get mine to work since last year July, and still am not quite there yet. But at least Mr. Mangoletsi has started answering mails...

Re: Clock this time...
Just received my clock back from Mike. Excellent service and very quick replies to my mails. Shipping to the US : 29,35€. In order to get it back, I had to pay 15,68€ in import duties and Italian mail handling costs. So make that a total of 45€ for shipping and receiving on top of the 85US$ (= +/- 8...
