Wow - he only needs to do a transmission fluid change not a full rebuild

On other cars I have seen where they have drilled a hole in the torque converter case and basically made a small drain plug to drain the torque converter but I assume it would need to be rebalanced - not really something I would consider or recommend. Sorry cannot help with that.

In my Range Rover you would do a megaflush or just change the fluid a few times in quick succession but it has a drain and fill hole so easy to do.

Most of the rest of the fluid will be in the torque converter.

Sounds like you have a dry joint on the circuit board and when you tap it contact is then made.

These have always been problematic and I am sure you can get replacements by themselves (not sure where) but maybe time to upgrade to more modern replacements that are now available.

With the given chain length, when you lift the engine it automatically goes to the correct angle to come straight out of the engine bay with minimal touching, and damage to other bits and pieces.
