Re: wire motor wires (again) simple question. 67 1.5

Do you have a 3 wire DL3A wiper with the square body and the parking mechanism on the motor itself? Or do you have a 6 wire motor with a round body (late S1.5) or the early square body unit with 6 wires and the parking switch behind the dash? Could you post a couple of photos of the exterior of the ...

On my 69 S2 FHC with manual steering the total length is 87.2 cm

Not sure if this used one from SC Parts would fit?

Cheers, Frank

Re: Merry Christmas, and exhaust question

The sealer ring fits over the pipe which then slips inside the manifold. ( not outside). The inside of the manifold is shaped to accept the profile of the ring. I reckon the sealer rings are wrong. They are supposed to be a slip fit into the base of the manifold and get crushed as it seals. Also. T...

Re: Merry Christmas, and exhaust question

The stud dimensions you give (3/8" and about an inch long) sounds correct.

I am having the devils own job of fitting the Hockey sticks back to the car they came off.
This is a perennial problem. Lots of glue and swearing seems to help. You could use a flap disc to profile the seal if you were brave.

Re: Dial test indicator

I have a number of dial gauges from different manufacturers. The el cheapo units are surprisingly accurate and should be fine for what you want to do. The digital ones seem a little more robust and are easier to read. I also have a couple of Mitutoyo gauges I use when it matters. While the concept o...

Re: how to remove horn cap on column??

There are 3 grub screws on the hub that hold it in.

The horn power wire attaches about halfway down the column.

What you have there are some pieces of the brake controls and Kelsey Hayes booster system. Do you have the rest of it?

Re: GAZ front dampers - NOT coil-over type - any experiences please ?

I have a set on my OTS. They seem to work fine. 10 years and 3000 miles.

I had a set on the rear of my MK2. Were only about 5 years old with limited miles when I bought the car. They were completely useless and I had to replace them with new shocks.

Re: 67 FHC quarter window seals

As a general principle I find SNG Barratt's website the easiest one to find parts. Even if you're not going to buy from them it's a good place to start looking. Moss also have their own annoying part numbers which aren't the same as the Jaguar ones. https://www.sngbarratt.com/English/#/UK/FindParts/...

If it's lateral play, then no there shouldn't be that much. That space should be largely taken up with the two Tufnol washers.
