Thanks Steve,
I saw the fast road/race description, my take is that, given the range of adjustment, height and rebound, you can pretty much do what you want.
Anyway, a complete success as far as I’m concerned, noting this was fitted a few years back on a Series 3 FHC.

.......note that adjustable spring platform Gaz require a non standard height spring...Steve Hi Steve and all, I am using my shocks with original springs. In fact that was the whole point, as my car was beautifully sprung with wonderful ride, but just a little low. Now it’s perfect for me at least....

Re: Koni Shocks
It doesn't. Sorry Andrew, but it does if the platform height is adjustable as well as the rebound. I assure you that the GAZ rear shocks on my car DO adjust the height. You can wind the spring platform up and down. https://www.gazshocks.com/ Read the details under “ Welcome to GAZ shocks” the heigh...

Re: Ner her her her her....
Technically speaking, yes! BUY 1 is now on a black BMW, presumably owned by Guildford BMW, who now own the old John Coombs dealership. I assume the Grant Williams car is not road legal or, if it is, it has to wear different plates on the road. The Coombs dealership registered several Jaguar cars as ...

Re: Stromberg fuel sump plug
Hi Jon. From experience, the bodies of the sumps often corrode and new seals alone won’t solve the problem. Clean the sealing face of the dump plug hole and select a fuel proof sealant. Smear it lightly around the seal, keeping it below the upper level of the seal -do not smear it inside the plug ho...

Re: Koni Shocks
GAZ shock absorbers are also available. I have them on the rear of my Series 3 but I believe they are available for all models. I like them, they are adjustable for rebound and height, meaning I have not had to replace springs and with the adjustment available in Series 3 cars I can adjust the front...

Hi, That’s good news, mine was a similar principle, except a screw type hydraulic jack rather than a pump. It’s this one: https://i.postimg.cc/FR760hr5/1-AAC7-D49-3936-4-FE2-B0-C5-8-F7-CF4229-B66.jpg Also available and looks identical but somewhat cheaper: https://i.postimg.cc/dQZX1QNG/8-FA21-B69-2-...

Ok Jeremy,
I wasn’t sure of the differences, but I thought it worth a try!
Good luck anyway.

Re: Can I fix a leaking radiator with araldite?
Hi Jeremy, You have to remove the gas strut on a Series 3 car to bring the bonnet upright. I’m not sure if that’s the case with earlier models, I know some use a different system, so forgive me if this isn’t helpful. Once I have removed the gas strut, I simply replace it with a metal strut, actually...

Re: Tonight. A man buys another XJS.
Hi Alan, That’s pretty similar to mine, looks like the one TSSC sold when I lived there (they probably still do). However, the Rotoflex variety was rather easier to split than the Swing Spring type of the later Mk III and Spitfire Mk IV/1500. Early Sptfires and all Herald cars had fixed spring but a...

Re: Tonight. A man buys another XJS.
Hi Steve, Triumph shafts were also taper and key and were horrible, they usually let go with a loud and often quite scary Bang! One great advantage however, was that the wire wheel hubs (if so fitted), could be removed just like normal wheels and the hub puller fitted directly to them. Those look ho...

Re: Tonight. A man buys another XJS.
Hydraulic puller. I bought one for the E and it’s been great. Still, Jag hubs are not as tough as the old Triumph Herald/Spitfire/GT6 hubs. I regularly used to pick up my heavy bench with the breaker bar/hub puller vice combination. That was using the correct tool, or at least a very good copy. I’ve...

Re: Tonight. A man buys another XJS.
Well, I really wanted your last XJS, but, being someone who probably likes standard cars even more, I think I would like this one even more! It would go very nicely with my very early Series 3. Not quite as early in the run as your XJS, at number 97 RHD, but still early. Congratulations Andrew, from...

Re: Installing sugar scoops on bonnet
Hi Brian, I can’t really add much more, it was so long back. I remember it being difficult and I bent one of the trim pieces trying to use too much force. Fortunately it was only at the back that the bend occurred, the rivet pushed the flanges inward and I was able to very carefully bend them out ag...

OK, dropping the " from "https" allows me to post am image, although that then says it's not a secure site...
Funnily enough, the Internet explorer browser I am using now allows the button to stay up, even using https, which I'm doing right now.
That's it, I'm done posting...

Re: Add Image button gone?
Now using Edge, using the same PC I just successfully uploaded photos with the add image button with Internet Explorer.
Guess what; no Add Image Button!
So it's related to the browser I guess. On the other PC, I don't have the old Internet Explorer. I'll try Chrome on this PC now...
