Re: V12 ECU

Hi, Yes that is an option but you end up with a rather fat collection of wires. I would normally do that with heat shrink tubing over each joint but that makes things fatter! My desire to redo the plug was based on the idea of no extra joints and neatness. I can see that in the end I may have to use...

V12 ECU

Hi everyone , I have an S3 with an HE efi engine. The problem is the ECU came with yards of wire from the donor XJS. This is now folded and wound about the floor of the car. I want to shorten the loom to place the ECU in a more sensible position rather than in the rear of the seat compartment. Has a...

Re: S3 gearbox swap

Bob, that's an idea but I'm not sure if I've got anywhere to put it in the s3 . I tried to get some info from coachbuilder solutions but they are not in stock! I'll ask the driver :?:  I've just replaced the antirolbar bushes with "polybushes" made a bit of difference when dry -- fewer "squeak...

Re: S3 gearbox swap

Well,..... That's the end of that then....my other half..maybe3/4 has pronounced that the gearbox can stay as a manual !!!!!!!!@@@&&£££???!? So, I'll be staying with the manual OTS in blue, but apparently with a hard top on ASAP for bad weather.! I did have a thought about the H/T though, everyone t...

Ball joints.

Hi all
I know it's an old chestnut, but where is the best place to buy Lemforder suspension joints for my S3.
I'm told they are the best and I've decided to replace all!

Re: S3 gearbox swap

Thanks Bob I had thought of them. The difficult bit I understand is the bell housing as the front of a 4hp24 is not instantly compatible with the back of a v12. Someone somewhere will have done i, I had hoped to do the majority of work " in house", that was :thankyouyellow: the plan....you know what...

S3 gearbox swap

Hi all,
I'm thinking of swapping my 3sp g/b with O/D for an auto box for ease of driving !.My wife has left knee problems and I have fused and arthritic left ankle problems.
Various suggestions have been made amongst them using a 4HP 24 with 22 guts?!
Would anyone like to chip in .?...please

Re: New fly eater!

If anyone would like to see an article about the Peter Mitchell mods ...let me know and I'll send a copy via email or PM whatever.
Currently making up a new seat base mounting point to move the seat back two inches ...anyone like to chip in with thoughts?

New fly eater!

Hi all, just driven an S3 open top into my garage...smug smile! Some work to do but essentially good. It joins a stable of various manufacturers, and sits proudly amongst them. Wandering my way through a restoration of a Phantom 3, now given myself even more reasons to stay in the garage with midnig...
