Footwell hole
This is probably a numty head question but.. Does anyone know what t(is hole is for in the foolwell of my S3 OTS. (In the centre of the pic) It was covered by sound deadening material, only discovered when we stated to strip the body of all bits and bobs.it doesn’t really go anywhere and it too low ...

Distributor Flash guard
Hi everyone, What is the forum opinion on the need/efficacy/desirability of the V12 Distributor internal flash guard. Mine is partially broken and they seem hard to find, thus making me wonder do I really need one? If the general consensus is that they are needed, where might I get one, at a sensible...

Re: Powder Coating Colours
With regard to paint and durability...I routinely used a good red metal oxide as a quite thick layer under a top coat of smooth black implement enamel on the rolling gear of a 101 forward control Land Rover in an off road club for many years, with great success. If the base metal prep is done well (...

Re: Powder Coating Colours
Powder coating anything that might get chipped is a bad idea because the moisture gets under and before long off it comes. There are powder coatings that have a zinc base to them but they are not terribly tough and so may only defer the “peel” ,they are also expensive and not that many people do the...

Re: Hi Torque starter motor
Marek Noting your observations in this case but thinking about the HE Efi engine, (mine) because the injectors stuff fuel in, on a slightly OTT basis, do you have any recommendations about the type of injector used and if the voltage drops during the start cycle, expectedly, then are there more effi...

Re: Engine lifting frame
If anyone wants to make their own... All materials steel unless specified. The longitudinal beam is 75x15 mm As are the bracing segments. The transverse frame is 30 x 5mm wall. The chain is 2ton rated. So are the hooks. The thrust bearings are from Amazon in this case 22mm bore. The small eyes for c...

Re: Engine lifting frame
I have a similar type of frame but almost all lifting frames end up having to angle chains in across the top of the engine scraping across alloy or worse fuel systems, particularly in my case with an Efi engine. Hence I produced one that doesn’t do this. The angle an engine and box combo has to achi...

Engine lifting frame
If anyone is interested a few pics of the V12 coming out with the new frame I constructed to try and minimise the scratching and gouging I’ve seen happen with other frames. Continuing the theme “YOSTBTBDO.” It all started with a bit of bodywork being chipped! Peter https://i.postimg.cc/LsF4...

Re: Wiper Mechanism
Hi
Dickos, I took my mechanism out last week
Do you have any pics to post?
It was not too easy to get the joining shaft out, but it comes out one way but not the other from my experience.
The dash needs to be out IMHO.
Peter.

Try the RROC in USA or RREC in UK they were used on quite a few RR models over a number of years, if its still required.

Re: Engine out
Bob, Thanks for those very helpful photos. A couple of things are interesting. Is that a Bray heater I can see ,? Where did you manage to get one of those? I’ve been looking for a while. I notice that the inside of the water channels seem lovely and clean judging by the inside of the thermostat hous...
