I think the original poster needs to re check the Registration requirements in Italy...ideally with other Italian members..who have registeted historic vehicles....here in the UK there are various different ways to register vehicles with the DVLA...choose the wrong path and you could end up needing ...

Your photos show 2 different plugs...doubt you can find an adaptor that fits both...but who knows..I would rewire a socket by the dash to fit your ctek plug....Steve

Pull out choke...dont touch the throttle pedal...start car...for a quicker start ensure battery is fully charged and carb choke mechanism is set correctly....dont forget in the 60s we used to get our mates to give us a push start

Befor I plugged a charger into it I'd make sure its connected to the battery...strange place to have a charge socket as you then need to have the charger lead running through the door?

Hi Alan...I your first post tick over was between 700 and 1200 and lumpy....now you cant get it below 2000... what's changed?....your still sucking in too much air and/or too much fuel...with the car running completely block the front intake of one carb at a time...see what happens....Steve

Just an update......replacement starter fitted.....all working....I havent delved into the faulty one....mate has sent it off for rebuild....Steve

You cannot standardise these measurements...it will depend on the application....there are various different clutch covers that have different dimensions from the flywheel face to the thrust bearing pad face....its really up to the installer to check that everything works correctly...dont just purch...

Hi Tom.. Thanks for posting I didn't realise that the solonoid operated initially through the brushes...I though that as the solonoid operated interal contacts then activated the motor via the brushes....hence the old school bang the starter if you can hear the solonoid operate but the starter dosnt...

How does the motor brushes affect the solonoid operating?.... Steve
