Hi all Could someone give me some details about this passage ( Jaguar seat belts / Fitting instructions ) My problem is the rear anchorage of course. Hi Glenn,
On my E Type it's a piece of flat belt with 2 or max 3 pleats
You make holes to engage the "hooks"

The same as this one but thicker

Re: sound proof on transmission tunnel

Hi Steve,
Normally, there are 2 snaps on the floor that receive the opposites attached to the left trim.
It's not glued, of course.
For this special point, I recommend you look at a well-restored E-Type.

Re: Pb with mecanical oil pressure gauge

Serge,
I think my pressures are good except sup 60 for the cold start.
I thought also that it was the new gauge, for 1 it could but for two with the same faulty... :scratchheadyellow:
I wait for a mecanical gauge to see the real pressure at cold.
Thanks

Re: Pb with mecanical oil pressure gauge

Hi Sorry for the unit pressure mistake : You must read 25 at 40 Lb. My gauge is the original. This morning I dismantled the filter head and checked and cleaned the valves. It's such a simple system, I wonder how it doesn't work. What I understand: With a poor seal of the coper relief head there is a...

Re: Pb with mecanical oil pressure gauge

Hi Thank you all for your diagnosis and advice. The parts have been ordered. I won't have time to work on the car before a trip of about 2000 km to Chambery in the French Alps. With few motorway sections. I don't think that having too much starting pressure is dangerous (as opposed to too little) bu...

Pb with mecanical oil pressure gauge

Hi all, Have you had any problems with the Classic Quality (Tim Goldthorp) oil pressure gauge? The 2 gauges gauges that he supplied me ( 1 in exchange ) leaked and filled with oil after very little use. My car is a serie 1-1965. My engine has about 10,000km since its restoration. My oil pump is stan...

Re: Replacement steering wheel surround.

Hi Mats
Yes the aluminium is just polished.
For the glue you must concider that the steering wheel is going to support sun and moon.
Why don't you simply ask Nick ?
If I had to do this, I used PU glue to join the 2 pieces and marine varnish for finishing
Hope its help

Re: Early Dunlop master cylinders

If you want to stay authentique, I think that any kind of coating isn't the solution.
In absolute terms, it's just cosmetic. They can be very rusty on the outside and still work perfectly.
So you might as well get closer to the original aesthetic.

Re: Early Dunlop master cylinders

John, I bought in France what I used so I think it is not valid for you nevertheless I'll send you the link to the website where I bought the products earlier. You can easily find these products at the gun restoration suppliers. Tanning is very commonly done on guns. The part must be sandblasted (no...

Re: Early Dunlop master cylinders

Hi John,

You can used a chimical product to be used to give the color black/blue to a weapon.
I did this for mine and it's nearly the same "color" than the original.

Re: DCOE equipped E-Type popping and farting excessively

Hi Ian, I don't think you have any particular interest in keeping your Webers. As you don't know how to set up them, forget them ! You'll be frustated all the time and it's not at all what the driving experience of an E-Type does . SOLD them and buy a set of SU with all the accessories and you'll re...

It's a pity you didn't buy the ones with the black plastic head.
They become totally invisible when mounted.

The Queen

My thoughts are with all my English friends who are crying tonight.
For us foreigners, not being able to have the same feeling, we can only imagine your sadness.
What a life and what a woman!

I'm not religious at all but I still write
God save the queen.
