Re: Acoustic Cameras
Jack Heuer insisted the winder be placed on the left to highlight the fact. He aimed them at the racing and pilot fraternity Was he left handed, assumed all pilots and racing drivers were left handed? Can't understand a reason for the winding crown to be on the left, except to be different?...

Re: Britax Ignition switch
Chris, be aware the XJ6 column lock is a different length to the E Type one. My E Type key lock had been abused and I was able to transfer the key lock from the XJ6 unit. Also I needed a new switch part so have used that as well to make a complete new unit to fit an E. As Steve says you could just u...

Re: Britax Ignition switch
I was able to use an ignition barrel from an XJ6 to make up a new steering lock/ignition switch. It'll mean some modifications to the wiring out of the barrel, but do-able. Might be worth searching for one on fleabay

Re: Prescott Hil
Our second Prescott with the E Type Register and my first time driving the E up the hill. It is a very fun day out, good people to meet, decent lunch in the restaurant (or take a picnic) and great views across the countryside. My leisurely drive up the hill broke no records (as Chris says, nothing c...

Re: Wiring query
Ash, I made a list of wires for the S2 in pdf form: Red/Black to headlight switch from fuse 5 Red/Blue panel edge lights from switch Red/Brown RWH relay C2 to warning light Red/Brown panel light switch to panel light resistor I've got one or two wires behind my dash that seem to go nowhere but can't...

Palnut on steering column
Jaguar fit a palnut on the steering wheel/column as a safety feature to stop the main nut from loosening off. But why a palnut and not a shakeproof washer or similar? Wouldn't they do the same job? Yes, they are reusable which is one advantage but ten or more times the price of a shakeproof or lock ...

Re: Quick Release Steering Wheel
Simon, you’ll have to add one of those bosses to my ever increasing list of needs and wants, please  I agree with your point of leaving the steering on full left or right lock and always try to do that when parking. Removing the steering wheel might deter the opportunist thief from trying in t...

Re: Unknown Parts
Graeme, the accelerator pedals are different LHD to RHD which will help explain why these look different and the lack of cut out in RHD carpets. Have you got the SNG Barratts excellent catalogues for the E Type with all parts very clearly shown? SC Parts also have clear parts catalogues. These will ...
