Hi Tim
AJ Autocraft sell a 10% overwound set. Have fitted a set to mine and they were perfect, as my bonnet kept falling down too. The originals lose tension after so long.
hope this is useful.

Ball joint gaitors

HI

I fitted new ball joint gaitors 2 years ago, checked them today and already showing signs of needing replacing again. Not a big job but i think they should last longer than that.Anyone know who sells the best ones.

Thanks Adam

Hi
Yes, you can heat up the centre section with a hairdryer and soften it enough to reshape it. Once it was very warm I placed a few large towels to weigh it down and left it to cool. Success! I now have a passenger footwell that dosent turn up like Aladdin's shoes!!

Cheers

Footwell carpets

Hi
Whats the best method to make the footwell carpets fit perfectly. Is the centre section thermo plastic needing heat to form it to the shape of the car,or is it that some carpets fit better than others.Who makes the best set?

Chris

They are great to use no effort to raise car, you can use one hand. They have a lock out facility, makes the servcing really easy not having to struggle to jack the car up.

Cast iron manifold finishes

Hi all I like the original enamel finish but doesn't seem to last to long. Have tried various paint finishes, didn't last too long either. At the moment I am rubbing in fire grate blacking which produces a nice sheen. I prefer a gloss finish to a matt finish so zirotec coating is out. What does ever...
