Re: Bumper fitment dilemma

I would use a 1mm cutting wheel to alter the radius on an angle grinder. It shouldn't get too hot. Use a sharpie to mark the area to be operated on and go easy. Make sure you are holding the bumper to the body in the same place as it may take a few goes. Go easy. Use masking tape on the body if it i...

Re: 4.2 engine running hot

Harvey, Test far air in the system by by doing the heater connection at the highest point and see is you can get more coolant in. They can be susceptible to air locks. Then, with the car running, check the circulation of hot coolant with your hand from cold. When the thermostat opens you should feel...

Re: Gtjoey bored Anyone like……

Looks like an excellent head. Bet it costs about as much as a wide angled C&G head though. If money were no object, I would have a go. Getting large power pout of an XK engine is expensive. My opinion on the diminishing returns of power vs money spent is 300 bhp on a fuel injected 4.2. That is aroun...

He says, whilst holding an almost identical bag of thumbscrews, purchased from Ebay at the weekend.

Great minds must think alike.

Re: Hoovie Buys an S1 Roadster

For all that, I would have bought it had it been offered to me and I would still be happy with it, even with a huge oil leak.

Good purchase Hoovie. Fantastic car.

I would definitely change those footwells. I bought a pair 2 weeks ago, they are less than £50 each.

Re: Crash Padding Assemblies on Cantrails

You can get sponge strip in from Woolies, it is self adhesive and you buy it buy the meter. It sticks around curves beautifully. https://www.woolies-trim.co.uk/c-132-sa-sponge-strip The last pair of cant rails I did, I used thick square profile black strip. You stick it on, then you sand it with a b...

Yes Julian, that is what I meant. Shabby Chic, sorry. I love Citroen almost as much as Jaguar. However the SM is the only car I have given up on. I purchased an Orient Blue one from Italy 10 years ago. It had been parked for over 20 years and was seized. I stripped it to the bulkhead then gave up an...

Re: 40 Years of SNG Barratt Video

Excellent film, well worth doing. Congratulations to the family. Just looking at my first SNG invoice for E type parts over 7 years ago for a brake pipe set and and some clutch bits for £143.84. I was ordered on a Wednesday and arrived the next day, no drama. I now have well over 300 transactions la...

Re: The Yoof! Efi Conversion. These Guys will Go Far.

My guess is that they have simply drilled injectors into the manifold from underneath. Its nice to use what you already own. The SU pistons/needles, float chambers etc have just been disabled so it still looks nice externally. A throttle position sensor has been attached to the end throttle spindle....
