Re: Anyone started to use their e-types yet?
Hi ! Proud to say I have driven my E-Type Series 3 in New York City for over 45 years (original owner), at least 2 or 3 times a week. Every week ! Does not see snow anymore (used too ! ), but on a dry day, hot or cold, I take it out. Letting such a beautiful car sit, un-driven , to me makes no sense...

Best source for correct part, and sage advice, is always Joe Curto in NYC, USA. In this day and age with email, cell phones, with satellite links, and quick shipping, he is the man !! Check his web page.

Good thinking !! Hold on to the plate, just in case. As for determining the value of your beauty, plate adds nothing. It does play a role in the 'wow' factor however !

Re: Smith oil pressure gauge - how to reattach black plastic hose to fitting
Yup....sometimes on cold start up, it will go to almost 70 lbs, but briefly, 60 lbs gauge has enough room to show that. Normal operation on any E-Type motor , 6 or 12, rule of thumb, once warm, is 10 lbs of oil pressure for every 100 revolutions (+ or - a few lbs).At idle, should indicate around 10 ...

Re: Recommended Spin On Oil Filter Adapter?
Anthony: I have used, as have several of my fellow E-Type owners, spin on filters from several vendors, and I can tell you, without question, they do not restrict oil flow at all. Back to back tests have shown, including by me, that the oil pressure, using both a mechanical Smiths oil pressure syste...

Many thanks for getting back. However, looking for just the coil. Tried the DAC # you suggested, but no luck .

replacement coil for SNG Re-Opus ignition
You chaps have a preferred high performance replacement coil for the 1973 E Type with Updated SNG equipment ? I would think there are a few coils out there that would work.
Thanks

Re: oil pressure woes
Hi Chris : the mechanical gauge goes to 100, but you will not notice the difference from the electrical gauge your replacing....few minutes behind the wheel, and it all looks familiar. Mechanical sender fits in same location as electrical sender. When you get the whole kit, it will all make sense. V...

Re: Smith oil pressure gauge - how to reattach black plastic hose to fitting
After a while, you won't even notice the difference. Besides, in real-life , everyday driving in any E-Type, except on very cold start-up, its rare to see anywhere near 60lbs. As I recall, over many years with a V-12, I'm looking at between 10 and 35lbs all day long. Happy motoring !

Re: Smith oil pressure gauge - how to reattach black plastic hose to fitting
Chris: This car must have changed over to a more accurate Smiths mechanical gauge, and ditched the useless, inaccurate electric gauge. It really is the way to go, and very easy to do. Of course, the new gauge fits in original hole, and basically looks exactly the same.

A cheap cigarette lighter works great.....used carefully, and an inch or two away. You will get a feel for it once you give it a try.

On a Series 3 V12, what ohms is the water temperature sender, or indicator, located on the top of the right bank ?? Many thanks .

I have Marek's reverse lights (built into the lens, of course) have had them for years now. Best thing I ever did....unbelievable lights ! Marek is a genius !! And you can ditch the old style, ugly , useless original back-up lights !! Looks fantastic !
