Re: Bonnet Balance Link Assembly
Paul, meant to say yours are the same as aftermarket at 136 degrees. Most of the ones I have are also 136 degrees. As seen in the photo the long link with the bend is the angle I am measuring. Oddly two cars have had different angles with one 136 degree link which my friend noticed when he tried to ...

Re: Bonnet Balance Link Assembly
Thanks for the photo Paul.
Yours are aftermarket and about 136 degrees. This is the angle in the main, longest section where the gentle curve is.
Still researching and I read the post about fitting some a few years ago.

Re: Bonnet Balance Link Assembly
Beginning to sort out the different balance link assemblys. I have a collection and my friend found he had two (one each right and left) that have a different angle to the curve. I looked at mine and I found three different angles of about 115 deg, 136 deg and 150 deg. Recently one forum member post...

Re: Half shaft UJ`s
Nigel, You want easy in all directions. You have a cap too far in and need to move out, perhaps 0.001" is enough. Leave the clips in and smack the axle towards and inline with the stiff plane of the joint. Hold by hand and use the knock off hammer on the other side of the joint. May need to rotate 1...

The bronze light is older and the box with the black background and white lettering is older. The silver is newer and the box with the orange background and black lettering is newer.

Re: Mig welder advice
my two cents. Practice, practice and then do it again. I ran many beads on some scrap while learning and got a feel for adjustments to amps, wire speed, travel speed and gas flow. Every time I weld now after not welding for months I need to practice. The way to reduce splatter is increase the Argon ...

Re: S2 vacuum tank.
The vacuum tank provides emergency braking when the engine cannot run and you must stop faster than the mechanical only braking will allow. Perhaps there is a different tank from another car or industry that can be used. It could go inside the passenger compartment. Or changing the brake system to a...

Re: Sudden complete loss of fuel delivery
Frank, It will be interesting to find out what this is. I have cut a couple of fuel tanks in half to be able to recycle the steel. Non explosive when in two pieces they say. One had been sitting for 15 years at least with some fuel (tank still in the car) and when cut in half I found the same stuff ...

Re: Rear bonnet grille
The BD.19178 Grill at Rear of Bonnet uses both two BD.17290 Thread Cutting Fix and two UFS.419/4H Screw with C.723/A washer to affix the grill to the bonnet. I think the BD.17290 is a sheet metal nut similar to Jaguar Stud Nut - BD-21040 Used in conjunction with BD-20887. As shown here: http://xks.c...

Re: Front Bumper and Badge-Bar, tweaking them to fit to bonnet.
Thanks for the in depth discussion of a procedure I will have to do in the future. I am thinking about the change in angle of the bumper blade as it is adjusted to be closer to the body in the horizontal plane referenced to the midline through the center of the car. Not a problem on the rear. The fr...
