Dear Frogeater, My wife certainly wont come for sure, for the Choke its a cold start at about 6c in May. By the way how far do you push the engine on the Rev counter ? What is your max speed ? Paul Hello Paul, I can't answer you to that question for the simple reason I never drove a jaguar ....

Hello Paul, I must confess, I never try to eat a frog. I choose this name on this english forum, just because of the wellknown "prejug?". Thank you for the link you put, but I won't be able to come. I hope that your wife will come and find that you are not alone to buy these "silly rusty things". Ti...

Hello Paul, For cleaning the wire, you could use a "bombe contact ?lectrique" you may find in a a supermarket (like "super u" for me). It would be better than wd40 which will let some "gras" on the wire. For the Choke, The less you use it and the better is: I don't use it when it's not necesary. (bu...

Hello Simon,
You won't need it, obviously, but don't forget to take some imperial wrenchs just in case you would have to stop on the road,or in a french garage (they don't have imperial size)

Hello Simon, I live in north of France and even if I was sometimes in the part you will discover, I can't suggest you some good adress there. I may propose you my mobile phone by Pm, just in case you would need a french-english translation. Perhaps it's obvious everywhere, but take care of your park...

Hello Dom, I'm not an expert in mechanic and obviously you will find more good advice here. Neverthanless, this saturday (not on a jaguar but with an english car) I had exactly the same problem, with my girlfriend and we were stopped in the country (5miles from the house): there was no pub and no pl...

Re: Hi from France Near Versailles

must be much cheaper than a French Maitrresse. Hello Paul, Perhaps, do you mean a "danseuse" :) I'm french too, and I live in Paris. I like the car you will have (serie1, fhc, dark blue) and I'm having a restoration of an etype which will look like yours (less originality). I hope you will find the...

Hello Nick, No I don't. Heuer gave me the link recently because I have a similar problem of bonnet ( http://www.etypeuk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1367 ). I think (but I'm not a specialist) that you should follow the advice of 1954 e type, in your case. I looked to sngbarratt and their price for an e...

Thank you for all of that!
I notice also a difference beetween the 3,8 manifold and 4,2 manifold on the Phillip Porter book.
It would have been a great mistake to take it (Not the first one for me :) )
So, I will wait
