S3 Battery

I have suffered my first component failure of the year! My 7 year old Delco Freedom battery is slowly giving up it's ability to hold a charge. I have used Delco freedom (or Delphi) batteries in a number of vehicles over the years and found this brand long lasting and reliable. And very importantly i...

I had the same problem following a complete restoration of my S3, the squealing was so bad at low speed it would stop traffic and pedestrians cover thier ears! Easily remedied with anti squeal shims from SNG and a smear of coppaslip to the back of the pads and where the edge of the pads contact the ...

I had my V12 diff rebiult by DANA Transmissions in Witton, Birmingham about three years ago. Dana took over the plant ( I think from GKN) that built Jaguars differentials in our cars a few years ago and operate a service department (or at least they did three yeras ago) from the plant. They are supp...

Wire Wheel Spinner Torque

I have searched the factory workshop manual, but I cannot find detailed anywhere the correct torque figure for the wire wheel spinners.

My car is a S3, however I would assume the value would be the same for all series, can anyone confirm what the correct torque is?

Many thanks,

Kevin

Series 3 Tool Kit

The original tool kit for my car is missing and I would like to gather the correct tools as supplied when new. Although I can see in the parts book the contents I am strugggling to find a good accurate photo anywhere of a complete kit. My particular query is the plug spanner, the parts book shows wh...

I have this type of Kangol belt with my early S3 OTS, however the webbing is past it's best. Does anyone have any experience of having this type of belt refurbished? I would prefer to retain the originals if I can but also must accept the critical safety aspect of having correctly functioning, worki...

Will,

My S3 has 2 removable rear brake inspection panels in the rear bulkhead. I accessed the nipples through these and not difficult at all. Having said that my cars not trimmed yet so I guess this makes it easier.

Good luck with it.
