Hi Tom...I was trying to pointing out how the light works with the oil pressure switch....if it comes on when the engine is running you haven't got ignition problems you have a lack of oil pressure. So although the lamp is called an ignition warning lamp understanding how it works gives you far more...

Re: 67 xke coupe 6 cylinder sender
Look at the wireing diagram for your car chassis number.. some have an oil pressure switch forward of the oil filter housring...its an on/off and operated the red warning lamp in the speedo....some think the red lamp is an ignition warning lamp but it was used in pre 3AW...Steve. assuming the damper is out when you do it..as you lift the piston you should be able to tell if the needle is lifting straight out of the jet and not scraping on the sides....Steve

Sounds like the float chamber needles arnt closeing so the fuel overflows up the jet....could be the floats not adjusted correctly or you have floats that are filling up with fuel and not floating or the needle valves arnt sealing correctly...Steve.....note that you should be able to remove the su c...

Re: Steering arm
As Andrew mentions above..the parts catalogue is you friend..the drawings dosnt show shims (only caliper mount bolt shims)...the section in the service manual refering to removeing/refitting the steering arm also covers the calipers and mentions shims....I think the shims are for the latter....Steve
