Re: Serious miss

Or if you have an old banger, you can slowly use what ever you drain from the E in that. :?:
However not if it's a diesel. :wow:

That's pretty cool. I have a similar one for the eared spinners. Much gentler on the chrome.

Re: S3 Engine Lifting Eyes

George, this picture may give you an idea. It's the RH cylinder bank with the valve cover removed and the cam timing tool installed. To the right you can see the lifting eye. My car has 3. The front LH lifting eye is missing, most likely due to a previous engine overhaul. I think it uses the cylinde...

Re: thicker Moto-Lita steering wheel

I had a 13" (maybe 14") MotoLita wheel from an other car 30 ish years ago lying around and installed in my S3 a few years ago. At the same time I reduced the power steering oil pressure for a more connected feeling. Mine is the thin rim and I'd prefer it slightly thicker, but not when I already have...

Re: V12 sereis 3 Exhaust ..straight or std?

HI .. part of me want to keep original, but there's curiosity as to what effect the straight through system would have??? anyone done this or got any first hand experience? I have the Bell SS system but have replaced the rear resonator with straight through 2" pipes. SS off course  The soun...

Re: Radiator Small Bottom Hose Concern

It was beginning of 2018, so they may have sorted their mess out by now. Mind you, not a word to say sorry or anything. Just not a good experience. The product is fine, just not the customer interface.

Re: Radiator Small Bottom Hose Concern

Toby, If you plan to go silicone from Samco, a word of caution. My kit was delivered with 4 incorrect size hoses. It took them 4-6 weeks to get it sorted out. My recommendation is to make sure they are all the correct sizes as soon as possible and not when you're assembling the car on a deadline to ...

Re: Dual Fan Wiring

Toby, Yes, that shows the connectors. I'll have to go and look at my car, but it isn't that many. From memory: A heavy gauge 12V (brown, I believe) 12V switched on by ignition, a ground (negative) a control wire from the AC relay (not sure if the AC wire is present on a non-ac car. 3 maybe 4 in tota...

Re: Dual Fan Wiring

There's a support arm on either side of the radiator going to the "picture frame" (square frame in front of the engine). The RH arm should have the wires strapped to it and the connection to the loom is where the radiator support meets the picture frame. https://i.postimg.cc/t4TzxVRQ/Fan-wire-loom.j...

Re: Indicator Flasher Location

Both the indicator and hazard flashers are on the right hand side of the cabin. On a LHD car it's the passenger side. Kind of up "next to" the glove box mounted above the hardura panel. If your car has the extra vents that can be operated by the black handle in either footwell, it's above that handl...

Hi Toby,

Re: Capacity and compression ratio increase

Curtis, we had a lengthy discussion on the Jag-Lovers forum about lightened flywheels about 1-2 years ago. The opinions were ranging from you can drive this smooth V12 without flywheel to a lightened flywheel will cause your car to stall easier. I'v had my Fidanza for over a year and 11-1200 miles w...

Re: Capacity and compression ratio increase

Assuming you have a manual car, one relatively cheap modification that will improve throttle response and potentially acceleration is the replace the heavy steel flywheel with the lighter version. Either a Fidanza aluminium flywheel or a lightened steel version.

Re: carburettor leaking fuel

I overcome this with a very thin smear of a FUEL RESISTANT sealant, making very sure none ends up inside the chamber bowl. My method is to apply to the the lowest inside portion of the bore so that as the bowl is refitted, the new seal tends to push the sealant down and out of the bore. I then appl...

Re: carburettor leaking fuel

I had similar fuel leaks from under my Strombergs. That was after a refurbishment that off course included new needle valves. Guess what, one of the new valves started leaking after just a couple of years. No trace of crud in it, so I replaced it with an old one that has worked since. An other time ...

Re: USA over riders

I got rid of my US train bumpers at the front as well. Made my own version of how I think they should look, but the rear set up with the added strength had some appeal to me because of the added protection in case of a low speed rear end collision. I basically shortened the huge rubber buffers and h...
