Re: The Queen

I want to offer my condolences for the loss of your Queen. She was such a dignified and inspirational monarch and an example to the rest of the world of what a leader can and should be. Long live the King!

With nothing worn underneath? :wow:
I'm sure that Carsten will say, "Everything's in perfect condition!"

Sorry to hear about your travails, Carsten, but David's advice sounds like a sanity saving option. I hope this gets resolved real soon and that you enjoy the vacation.

Re: Exhaust regret

I don't know if I am understanding your question correctly but I replaced my (possibly original) rusted out mild steel system with the Bell SS system about ten or twelve years ago. I retained the original resonators and am very pleased with the sound: authoritative but not obnoxious. Add to that no ...

Re: The simple things.....

I was at a cars & coffee that same day when a young father with two girls and a boy stopped by and spent more than a glancing time looking at my car. I put the boy (about 5 yrs) in the driver's seat and he had a big grin on his face as he grabbed the wheel and put his hand on the shift lever. The mi...

I agree, that's atrocious! No offense intended, but it looks like some kind of a metallic tumor.

Re: Wiring a 4.2 S1 Pictorial

In addition to any photos that you can find, I highly recommend this wiring diagram manual. It breaks down the various looms into individual systems and shows where each of the wires connect to each of the components.

A belated welcome to the forum! You'll find that this is a friendly and knowledgeable group who are willing to share their experience and expertise. Any questions or problems, just ask away.

If you already own an E Type, you should put your info (Year, series and model) in your signature block.

Somehow, my saved link had gotten changed from forums.jag-lovers.com to forums.jag-lovers.org. No idea how, but it was a simple fix once I figured out what the problem was.

Re: J-L Down

Thanks, David. Must be some problem on my end, although I'm able to access any other website that I try.

Edit: I just tried via Google search and it opened it for me. Must be some corruption in the link that I was trying.

J-L Down

I have been unable to access the Jag Lovers forum for the past several hours. It appears that the site is down. Does anyone on this forum know what's going on with J-L?

Re: I’ve got a new car

Just think of it like some members who have acquired a dismantled E Type and have undertaken its restoration and assembly. At least yours will have a parts manual that indicates what every part is and where it will go!

Re: Boot Latch

Sounds like something has slipped slightly out of place. Place a digital camera with a self timer in the boot. Point the camera towards the catch, fire the self timer and close the boot lid. You'll be able to see what's out of alignment and which direction you need to move the offending part. The ba...

Re: Jack storage

If you don't have the bag for the jack, get one. It will protect the wheel from scratches. https://www.sngbarratt.com/English/#/us/search/results?pageNo=1&query=jack%20bag&familyId=%5B3%5D&modelIds=%5B83%5D&excludeTurnedDown=false The OTS has such little storage space that it's imperative that the j...

Welcome to the forum, Adam. You're in for a fun ride! I would strongly recommend purchasing and reading through Pete Crespin's book. You will want to know what to look for even if you take an expert with you when you look at a possible car. https://www.amazon.com/s?k=essential+buyers+guide+jaguar+et...

Re: Potential new member

Peter Crespin's Essential Buyer's Guide Jaguar E Type covers all of the important things to look at before you write a check. Of particular concern is rust then secondly, rust and finally make a careful check for rust. Once you find the right car for you, that face-cramping grin will be your main co...
