Re: Garage / workshop
Hi gents, Many thanks for all the really helpful replies! This is extractor I am using : https://i.postimg.cc/V6f1gkSr/F7-B05818-BA20-457-B-91-D9-06768-AC69-C18.jpg It doesn’t really release much noticeable dust, but I thought I could rig up an exhaust tube to the outside world... just to try and ma...

Re: Dodgy coil?
Hi Jeremy, To add to the collective knowledge (perhaps!) I had exactly the same symptoms you describe from a Tr6. It was the coil and the replacement would last for about a year, before the same thing would occur. I think this was related to the positioning of the coil to the engine (it’s bolted to ...

Re: Garage / workshop
Hi Gents, Thanks for the input and yes Simon, the blaster is in a cabinet and I have previously fitted an dust extractor, which I think I could rig up to blow the exhaust out of the building with some pipework too. I know just how pervasive dust is and I don’t want it getting onto any shiny new pain...

Garage / workshop
Evening all, Planning a new Garage / workshop for my restoration once the body is back from the painters. I’m thinking that 24’ X 12’ garage/workshop should be an adequate size to work on the car, with good benches at one end and plenty of room for shelving, to store parts, tools and equipment such ...

Re: Pilkington Classic require our assistance
Hi David, Can I just clarify please- you say pilkington have no patterns for series 2, 2+2 Windscreen glass. Mine was cracked and I asked Pilkington last year if they needed my windscreen as a pattern. They confirmed they would not need it and their HT0326 was what I needed. As such, mine has gone t...

Re: Looking for my old E-Type reg "XKE 75"
And I believe cats also liked the warm rear diff of a lorry to sleep on. When the lorry moved off, they could fall off and be hurt or worse. When I was a child we found what we thought could have been such a victim, with a broken jaw and in a right mess. We had her patched her up and she became the ...

Re: Thought and Contemplation
Hi Andrew, I’m 44! Bought my first classic I restore in my 20’s and that was a ‘60 frogeye. In hindsight, it was probability beyond economic repair, but I persevered... I love anything mechanical ( Grand father in the REME ?!) I never had the money to go out and buy a sports car, so I thought restor...

They are cracking on well now and dedicating 1 guy to it, so hopefully it will be finished in the spring... :bouncyyellow: Del...

Re: Winter is here...
Richard : a bit late to tell you now, but if you follow the Workshop manual and raise the rear of the car , it reduces the angle of dangle required and makes the whole job much easier Perhaps a little late Christopher, but hopefully useful for the next guy who stumbles across this post. I did follo...
