Re: Wheel bearing removal

On good quality tooling, the levers are thin and do not need to spread the bearing. The press fit of the two half shells forces the bearing underneath. But for this you need very good quality steel. It saves time, nerves and when you don't succeed, it's not the tools that are to blame but the way yo...

Re: Wheel bearing removal

Rory, You well known the answer, for £50 you have a really bad tool of course, Purhaps it will work without hurting your original Jaguar parts, purhaps not. I sell tools all day long and it's a pitty to sell this kind of tools. There's really not a garage near you ? You'll need this bearing separato...

Re: Best petrol

Hi, If you come to France, you'll find 95 E5 and 98 E5. You'll also find 95/E10 Not all stations offer the full range because of the number of tanks they have available. Just a reminder: Octane is only an anti-detonator and it's always better to choose a petrol with a high octane level but not for p...

Re: Rear engine/gearbox support spring ,

Yes you understand well.
It was only for delivery the car.
Mine, like many others, had this washer and pin for many years. Jaguar's instructions to their dealers must not have been very clear at that time !

Re: Roadster interior mirror dash bracket

Hi Phil,

I think the braket is under the dash and not on it.
Like that you can fit out the dash without dismounting the miror and all the parts around.
If you look at the factory fit, you'll only see the rod coming from throught the dash

Re: 61 OTS in the stable

:yeahthat:
For the oil pressure you can only change the sender before you make a decision on how to be sure you have the true oil pressure indicated on the gauge. This is cheap.
If you change the oil, change the other fluids too. You'll can see if they are clear or old.
Very nice car indeed !

Re: Cleaning alloy dash

Hi Ed, 1st: Mask the parts of the trim that could suffer with the products used. 2: Use a non-aggressive household product with a brush (toothbrush) in circular movements to clean the relief of the aluminium sheet. Do that twice so that is really clean. 2a: If you have a dot pattern with scraches on...
