seems the calculations are pretty close. If you had a .63 you would be cruising at 133 mph - although not quite sure that would be classed as cruising in the e-type.
Critically though, it keeps you in the optimum power band, although with the .63 you could have done the same speed for 700 revs less.

New owner introduction
Hi all Last month I took delivery of a lovely 1969 OTS in Regency Red and officially became a big cat owner for the first time. I knew there would be a few things to do, but closer inspection etc. has revealed the usual long list of PO bits and pieces to fix. Biggest one was the clutch failing, so h...

Thanks Peter and David It's already in danger of turning into a restoration  Looks like there are hairline cracks in the exhaust manifolds which will also need replacing. A checklist of Priority 1/2/3/OCD is almost needed. I think I shall leave the de-coking and the carbs intact for the time b...

S2 replacement radiator
Hi all It looks like I am going to replace the radiator on my S2 OTS, several mangled bits on the cooling fins, tell tale signs of previous patching and congealed green coolant in various places. I thought I might as well go with an uprated one, as I will be using it as a driver in standing traffic,...

Jobs whilst engine is out
Hi all I've just got a 1969 OTS, was at the Swiss equivalent of a VOSA test to get it on the road and the clutch totally failed  compression on the pedal but not disengaging. Cylinders look ok, but now taking out the engine to examine the clutch. We've seen there is a crack in the bell housing,...
