seems the calculations are pretty close. If you had a .63 you would be cruising at 133 mph - although not quite sure that would be classed as cruising in the e-type.

Critically though, it keeps you in the optimum power band, although with the .63 you could have done the same speed for 700 revs less.

How much foam / Dynamat is needed between the gearbox and the body? 2 inches thick but how large? Does anyone have any pics of an install to give an idea how far down/around it needs to go?

standard rate is about 140 CHF / ?100 per hour for mechanicals - it will be cheaper to buy my own lift... if only I had the space

Are the gearbox mount bobbins the same as the engine mounts? I can't find them after looking in several of the catalogues.

I was about to do mine also. I added the Gear lever bush to the list as well - not sure if it is strictly necessary.

According to the parts catalogue the RHD models need 3 spacers BD.18957/1. LHD do not.

I had similar problems. A light strip down as per the Smith-Jaeger repair link posted by Andrew, and some light greasing (also on the cable sleave) fixed the issue.
