Re: Webers or Fuel Injection
Hi Woolfi, Whilst I respect your knowledge and expertise on things V12, I have to say I think you are wrong and my car is the proof! Fuel injection with absolutely no bugs, and more power than any carb equipped car.... The LPG idea is really interesting, and I wait with interest to read more on that...

I did make contact but it fell on deaf ears. Of course the emphasis there will always be on a certain 9600 HP! I will not give up...

V12 50 year anniversary in 2021
Justifiably, there is a lot of interest in the 60 year anniversary of the E-type. Many events organised for next year, but unless I’ve missed something, there is nothing about the 50 year anniversary of the V12. Don’t forget, this was also the launch of the fabulous V12 engine. The E-type Club certa...

Re: Webers or Fuel Injection
Thanks for that. Also, there was another similar article on my V12 in your Australian magazine called Jaguar. It was last year. Interesting what you are doing. Good luck with that.

Re: Webers or Fuel Injection
My car is set up really beautifully by a combination of M&C Wilkinson and AJ6 Engineering. Fitted with the very last 6 litre engine from the factory in 2005, XJS fuel injection metered via a AJ6 ECU. AJ6 throttle bodies, electronic ignition via Lumenition. Producing 380bhp, and a chassis set up by E...

Re: Driving during lockdown
There is nothing illegal about driving your car in this particular lockdown. I am driving to site meetings and seeing clients, all be it socially distancing. Those are the rules we should be obeying, masks space and washing hands regularly. If you don’t, What part of this don’t you understand! Stay ...

Re: Top 10 E-Type models
Umm, Mr Porter doesn’t talk to mere mortals like you and I! To get back on theme; all E-types are the spice of life, and whatever your preference, there are enough different Models to satisfy us all. For me it’s a Series 3 OTS, with 16” wheels, more power, decent brakes, comfortable seats, quicker s...

Re: Diamond Jubilee E-Type's
I can understand the price if these cars were built to a fantastic standard. Sadly, cars I have seen restored by Jaguar are not top drawer restorations. Shut lines not consistent, paint with areas of orange peel, and poorly trimmed seats with baggy leather.

Thanks guys. I thought I had adjusted each side for tight fit, but clearly not! It is really tight now, and solved the problem.

Re: Garage Flooring
I thought I’d respond with some professional advise after noting a couple of points on two recent posts. As an architect I often get asked about materials to use in garages, having designed a handful for some valuable car collections. Ceramic flooring is the best, but also the most expensive solutio...

Bonnet (hood) shake on bumpy roads
Every E-type I have owned (4), has suffered from the bonnet shaking from side to side on our typical British “B” roads. It’s not the shaking that bothers me, but the same accompanying rattle. It’s not especially loud, but I am sure many of you have the same problem. It’s the only rattle on my car, a...

Re: Indicator gasket : another poor reproduction part
I think you will find CMC get their parts from a SNGB who are only a couple of miles down the road from each other. Why don’t you contact Julian Barrett direct and tell him about the problem, and ask him what they can do about it. Of all the parts suppliers, and they are the biggest, and the most he...

Re: Preferred supplier of interior trimming kits?
I have made a good start. Bought a pair of MX5 Mk1 seats (separate head rest) and got a price from Mick Turley to retrim the whole car in Biscuit. I will be selling the old seats (perfect and retrimmed 18 months ago in black) and will post a for sale at the end of the season.

Re: Preferred supplier of interior trimming kits?
Thanks guys, that’s most helpful. My instincts said BAS for the materials if you do some of it yourself. I’ll report later about how I get on. I just fancy a change from black to biscuit! Maybe a more comfortable seat too....MX5?

Preferred supplier of interior trimming kits?
I have been looking to buy a trimming kit but not sure who the best or recommended supplier is? Any advise here between BAS (S Wales), Aldridge, BAS (USA).

With regards to Eagle homologation: the easiest way to answer your questions is to ring Eagle and get the answer! One thing is for sure, registration of each car will have been carried out legally.

Re: Eagle Lightweight GT
Steve, If you buy the latest Classic Jaguar magazine, my V12 is the featured car, and tells the complete story of the car and it’s restoration. There was also an article of the car at the beginning of the year in the E-type Club Magazine. However, to answer your question, Eagle fitted AP Racing 4 po...

Re: Eagle Lightweight GT
Quite right Stuart, one man’s meat is indeed another man’s poison, but it is annoying when comments linking too much money and bad taste and Eagle! A somewhat fatuous comment! I am only defending Eagle for their engineering, design, quality and finish in what they do, which is par excellence. Stay S...
