Re: JDC JEC or E-type club
Hi This debate has just prompted me to cancel my E Type Club membership. I've just been so apathetic towards it lately and have a pile of unopened magazines sitting in the office waiting for me to bother to do something. That's a few quid saved! Still pondering the continued membership of the JEC th...

Re: Choke, cable
Hi Mikael
That is the correct hole for the choke cable and it gives a very straight run from lever to choke on carbs. I suspect that you may have installed the choke lever on the left of the centre panel, rather than the right

Re: Rear Hatch Interior Trim
Hi Mine came from BAS with the vinyl already fitted to the board. As Randall said, the vinyl is only glued to the reverse side of the board. There is scrim foam between the vinyl and the board and, on mine, it was very thin - probably around 2mm thick. The scrim foam only covers the board, I'm prett...

Perhaps they had fallen off the transporter on the way to the dealership and had to be rebuilt by the mechanics?

Also, make sure the fuel pump has filled the carburettor float bowls before cranking the engine over.

Re: Wheel/tire selection, help needed
I have MWS XW474 6x15" Aston Martin DB6 Mk2 wheels on my Series 1 FHC. These are technically incorrect for my car because they have flat hubs but I have vented discs & 4 pot calipers on mine and curly hubs foul the calipers. They are fitted with 215x65 tyres and fill the arches nicely while still be...

Nice job,Steve.
I'm in a similar position with a replica build. What solution did you use for seat belts to ensure compliance?

Re: Brakes slow in releasing
Hi Eddie Just because your reaction valve is new doesn't necessarily mean that it isn't sticking or the vent blocked. I've had some of these where the shuttle/piston has a line of moulding flash on it and it sticks and locks the brakes on. Carefully remove the flash with a scalpel and sand it back u...

Yep, definitely reversed.
This design obviously pre-dates the adoption of poka-yoke techniques, etc.
No wonder the Japanese companies kicked our backsides with quality and reliability.

Do they not run through grommets in those holes just above the sill and then up and over the rea wheel arches? They do on my FHC but that doesn't necessarily mean very much.
I'm sure Angus knows best.

I, too, have had excellent service and quality from ACF Howell.
They are always very busy and can appear chaotic but they have never lost anything of mine. They were recommended to me by the, much respected, late Derek Watson and have never disappointed.
