Re: Primer... which is best for bare metal?
Hi Rich, I’m just stripping the underseal from my car and have decided to use Bilt Hamber rust gel where needed and then use their Zinc primer on the bare metal on the underside and within the sills etc as I’m replacing panels. It seems a zinc rich primer will give a good level of protection under t...

Hello,
My car is March 72 2+2. I believe the sun visors and headlining are original and are both beige fabric.
Good luck

Re: Did anyone go to spares day
Hi, Yes I went to the spares day, picked up some pre ordered parts from Simply Performance and had a look at what was on offer. The highlight for me was meeting Angus and seeing his car, it was a beauty! It was not as busy as previously but still plenty to have a look at for a couple of hours and th...

Re: DAB radio for 1974 E type.
Good morning, my ‘72 V12 2+2 has the speakers mounted low in the B pillar just behind the front seats. I expect this is also true for the roadster but not 100% sure.

Re: Scam alert!
Hello Mario, I hope your keeping well. I have no association with Mario other than I purchased my e type V12 from him via e bay couple of years ago. The car came in from the US just as planned, no surprises and and easy smooth transaction. It is disconcerting buying an unseen car, and many would not...

Super project Jeremy, a lovely read. Reading between the lines I would say it’s time for for you to consider another project! I’m moving forward slowly with mine and defiantly overdue to provide the forum with an update. I will sort out my phots and create some new content. Car is now 95% striped so...

Re: New E-Type book (cont'd)
Peter good luck with your new project. Assuming it’s e type engine related can we have a few detailed chapters on the V12 which surely is greatest of all Jaguar engines.

Gentleman,
Thank you all for your shared experience and comments. It will be a while before I’m fitting the box so expect me to return to the subject again and no doubt draw on your invaluable experience.
Very much appreciated

Re: Getrag 265 5 Speed for V12
Gents thank you for your replies, very much appreciated, I haven’t picked up the gear box yet so will fully investigate Speedo drive options. I came across a US supplier who offers a gps box that powers via an electric motor the mechanical speedo cable. Much more confident that there will be a good ...

Getrag 265 5 Speed for V12
Hello, I want to switch from auto to manual and have an option on a Getrag 265 5 speed manual from an XJS for a fair price. Planning to use the ‘super performance’ adaptor kit to make it fit. The only down side I can see is that it’s a 1990 box and therefore does not have the mechanical speedo drive...

Re: Importing V55/5 Reg document pic ?
Hello I'm pleased to confirm that I have now received my V5 from DVLA with my new UK registration number. After my initial application was rejected I contacted the NOVA Team and requested that the VIN number for my car was corrected in their records. I sent photos and a few days later I received a n...

Hi David,
Welcome, I’ve found the forum to be excellent, lots of very knowledgeable friendly chaps.
I’m in the early stages of a 2+2 V12 and based in North Worcestershire so may be handy if you need a reference point or a chat and a beer.
Good luck
Nick
