Re: Forum Magazine Article
Simon, Of all of the classic car forums I have experienced this is unique. Why? - there is not a job that has not been done by someone and they are genuinely happy to share - a forum member will happily take the most ridiculous (and often uncomfortable to access) photograph to help your job along - ...

Re: New member but not new E owner in Leics England
Welcome Andy My 1970 FHC S2 is also an Attwoods Wolverhampton car. My mother purchased it as the second owner in 1973 and it’s been in the family ever since. A slightly easier history to trace! 😉 Good to see you’ve finally joined. As you know through following the site a very knowledgable and friend...

Your keen eye always impresses me Steve
This was during engine/front end rebuild and car was pre-suspension setup at time of photo.
All the best.

Re: Chrome Hood Trim - repair, or buy new BD21397 ?
+1 for Marque chrome Rory.
My experiences very similar to Jeremy’s.
I had all my bonnet catches chromed - the male and females on the side of the bonnet, etc. They took the time to phone me to check which surfaces needed to be polished.
Very impressed.

Re: Before and after
Rory MWS sell those conical brushes too. Very good in a drill as you say. One other (daft) tip I use for cleaning around the base of the spokes, where you can get stubborn stains, is a wooden chopstick with a piece of cloth. Saves the sore fingers. And definitely a fan of the two products set Malcol...

Looks great Malcolm.
I am a big fan of the MWS products too - definitely the best wheel cleaning product I have used.

Re: Furred up waterways/overheating
It was truly remarkable the car ran as well as it did. Was genuinely an engine that has never had any temperature issues.
And half the block was without water...

Re: Furred up waterways/overheating
Mine was 50 years old in January. Had always run really well - nothing untoward on the temperature side of things. Would sit in traffic and the temp gauge would rise, fans would kick in and the temp would drop down. All good. And look at the state of the block when the engine builder stripped it las...

Re: Disappointed in parts quality
Just supporting many of the posts above... It is definitely one of those E Type jobs that is hard work the first time. Then you become an expert (and don't need to do it for ten years!) - I had the luxury of borrowing Rory's alignment tool which was so helpful. It then went to SNGB from me. - Some g...

Re: Owner since 1977
Hi Chris - welcome! You are amongst friends and experts on here. It’s an incredible forum. Like you I do not have the incredible setups posted (they are all very impressive). You can do a lot with a wire wheel on a drill! Paint wise I like Hammerite too - find it better to thin down and use small mo...

Re: Engine rebuild - almost done!..
Beautiful job Tadek - congrats. As others have already said, there is nothing as beautiful as a prepared E Type engine. Don't get worried about the dipstick marks - its a dark art. When it's back in the car with exactly 8.5l of oil in it. Dip it somewhere on a level surface and that's your mark. Whe...
