How to remove a Britax sliding roof cover ?
My painter wants me to take of the vinyl sliding part. I remember the whole roof is bolted into the roof with small nuts hidden under the roof foam. Can the sliding vinyl part be take off solely, if so, how ? My car is to be sent to him after our holiday in iceland, in mid - august, when he‘s back a...

Re: When is an import not an import?
Could not someone here just buy a tatty Hillman Imp or an Allegro with a quartic wheel (buy british!), insure it and loan it to Pete ? If anything happens it was a short term loan like „I gave it to him for 2 days“ or so - in germany that would be ok.

Re: When is an import not an import?
Guy : we have this problem fairly regularly in our touring club when we have tried to lend cars to overseas members . It is very difficult indeed to insure a non-hire car for an overseas resident to drive in the UK . Don't ask me why this is, because I don't understand it ! …because you drive on th...

Yes, BJ means Baujahr which means year of built. I thought maybe the dissi drive is 1 tooth of inside the engine ? Carsten P.S - my car is also a 1966 / March S1 2+2. I am sanding the bonnet for painting this summer, and I’m still waiting for the windscreen „to be made in England“….for about 7 month...

Re: Classic British Cars BBC4
I have now seen it. And I liked it (though the term „rubbish“ used on the Imp, hm, ok, maybe). And it motivated me to go on sanding my bonnet / due to Covid the painter found some time helping me out, so I am trying to really get it done. Oh and l‘ll write another mail to Pilkington where the heck m...

Re: Jaguar are losing the plot!
Yes - I once saw a documentary about merc in the post war years, and their Chief Developer said they had „on the road failures“ reported back to the factory, and went after each issue - every time a car failed to limp home he said they felt that as their personal failure. Those days are gone… Carst...

Re: Jaguar are losing the plot!
Being too young to have whitnessed it, I can of course not argue - all what I know comes from media. Clarkson said „it was them all“,- the products were not up to international competition, many strikes, bad decision from gov and industry leaders, oil crisis - was / is he wrong ? At Citroen, it was ...

I have the weber tool / for the SM...I‘ll use it.
Currently I have ATF in the carbs, and not SU‘s own oil. And I‘ll check for the 1.5 mm jet height below the bridge.

Re: Float level ? S1 4.2 does not start
Tried to start it today, and it did not - until I unscrewed the dampers on the domes. Then instant success. What would be a remedy for this - where to look ? Does it mean „worn pistons“ so „not enough vacuum“ above them ? Or too strong springs, or anything else I should look at ? I drove it today on...

Here‘s the U1 photo I promised. Hope it gets through. These are longer I think, and the tip is different to the UM. I tried to measure the diameter on top and tip, and they differ as well. https://i.postimg.cc/66gc22cj/A6-A15-F33-4853-4-C2-F-A16-B-D96-A140-C9-F44.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/02SfpkH8/F6...
