Re: Dodgy Dealings

Hello Steve,
Thanks for the reply. I paid via a Debit Cars, basically the same as a Credit Card, but my own money. I've put it with the bank to sort it out, but I lose AUD22.00 international transaction fee.

Regards,

Hello Simon, I manufacture the Reverse Idler shaft as shown in the following picture; more suitable material and heat treatment than the original. https://i.postimg.cc/wMRbQ1fn/Reverse-Idler-Shaft1.jpg The following picture shows the very typical wear you can expect when you strip your gearbox. http...

Re: Roller release/throwout bearing

Hello Jerome, The max lateral movement from when the Throw Out Bearing contacts the clutch plate is circa 0.799mm, but the full affect depends on how concentric with the centre line it starts at when first contact is made. I think using an annular roller throw out bearing module would be the way to ...

Hello All, Is there anyone that has their 4.2 Series 1 2+2 dismantled to some degree, or anyone at all, willing to compare the Trafficator assembly with the following pictures and tell me which component pictured it matches? Re: Gearbox EJS 12803

Hello Peezee, For the recognized expert to make that comment, he's not much of an expert. At the back end of the Gearbox is an integral oil pump. Notwithstanding that the oil pressure generated is quite low, its oil pressure, nonetheless. The fibre washer that locates in that hole resists the oil pr...

Re: Gearbox upgrade

Where abouts in Australia are you? Which Bell Housing was used? With one car that was brought to me to fix a T5 gearbox issue, the problem turned out that the face of the Bell Housing that attached to the engine wasn't parallel to the face that the gearbox attached to. It was the third time the gear...

Re: Chrome trim air scoop

Hello Marcus, In the picture you Posted, the leading edge of the Chin Scoop looks wrong. It should be a circa 10mm wide strip of metal folded over on to the remainder of the scoop to form an edge that is two thickness of the sheetmetal. Probably not, but it looks a lot like wired edge or rolled edge...
