Re: Heritage Throttle body injection
I am thinking, that in this discussion a lot of people are talking a lot of bullshit !!! They are talkning about things, they NEVER have testet or compared. Fairy tales and rumors are the main content of most of the posting above. For me it seems like a never ending reproduction of the same rumors -...

Re: Using Twin Lambda sensors - anyone else tried this ?
It is important that the Lambda measuring system is using wide-band and NOT narrow band sensors. In a normal modern car are narrow-band lambda sensors mounted. Also the electronic must be for the wide-band or a different electronic for the narrow-band sensors. But to measure lambdas from 0,75 to 1,2...

Re: SU carburettor needle comparison graph
I have put a V12 with 6l form a 93 limousine , 4 original Stromberg carbs and the original front silencers with 48 mm wholes longline. No back muffler. 58 mm pipes instead of the 32mm-trumpet leading to the air filter. The mixture was much too weak rom 10% part throttle to full throttle. I have moun...

Re: opus ignition system
In the moment 123 can not offer a ignition system for the V12 motor. I have heard, that the owner has too less time, to develop a system for the V12. A cheap way to cure ignition problems of the original Opus system, is to mount a used ignition system from a XJ12 with HE-motor or XJS with HE-motor. ...

The following I found on jag-lovers.org . 46 hp or 53 hp gain with tubular manifolds ? lol . . . The hp-gain of tubular manifolds in a normal jaguar V12 motor seems to be nearby zero ! 1. Start the motor, let it run in iddle, check the rising temperatures of the water cooler with a infrared thermometer.
2. Is it possible to take out the two thermostats and make a testdrive ? Is the water cooler still becomming to hot ?

Re: sound of the v12
"He means "a manifold made up of short tubes cannot work very well" and looks to be referring to the D-type 2x 3into1 arrangement shown in the second picture on that page of his website." Also Mr. Bywater descibes the power gaine (nearly zero) of commonly sold tubular headers for the EV12. I found ...

Re: sound of the v12
Unless Ian can't show you a dyno sheet, which is part of the buyers contract, he is a fairy-teller, like thousands of other tuning-part dealers. If the bigger down-pipes are reducing back-pressure, you have to "reshape" the 4 carb needles. Otherwise the mixture is becomming leaner and the motor is l...

Re: sound of the v12
M. Bywater is writing: "Returning to the classic short branch tubular manifold it will now become more obvious why this arrangement cannot work very well." My english is a little bit poor. What does he mean with "this arragement" ? The tubular manifold or the original cast iron 3into1 manifold ? Reg...

Re: sound of the v12
I don't know, if there is a tubular manifold, with short pipes fitting into the narrow engine campartment of the e-type V12, which gives more power. Mr. Bywater says "No!" http://www.jagweb.com/aj6eng/tt_explained.php Aj6 wants to sell tt-pipes. The other three companies want to sell tubular manifol...

"I have been doing some further research following Classicfabs announcement that they are going to make tubular V12 manifolds. Hayward and Scott also make them, and I gather from Chris at KWE that on the dyno it make 50bhp difference but lots of extra torque all the way from 2000rpm. Bell exhaust d...

Re: sound of the v12
I think if you are doing stage one, (20 mm hole) plus stage 4 (extracting the steel wool out of the second camber of the two front mufflers), there will be no or low need for reshaping the needles. This is a easy way to a more sporty sound at the EV12. The biggest problem is to take down the silence...

Hi, Lots of guys have modded their exhaust system to achieve a more sports car sound. Try a search in this forum for v12 exhaust sound. In particular read what Woolfi, a German contributor, has to say. Ive done mine in similar fashion but with no rear resonators, the sound is great. Marc Brown Marc...

"Many have upgraded to injected engines and I can see the sense in this." I planned in the past, to mount a injection from a Series II XJ12 on the EV12 motor. After I have done two acceleration tests against injected EV12 I stopped my planning. From 2000 to 4000 rpm the Stromberg Motor had signific...

Re: sound of the v12
I have done a big 45 mm hole longline in the entrance pipe. Now my silencers are similar to a straight-through silencer. The sound is still like the typical EV12 sound, but a little bit more aggressive and louder. My car has also no rear silencer. The sound is much different and louder. Therefore I ...

Re: New clutch
In my EV12 I needed a lot of leg-power, to push the clutch pedal. After I had mounted a new clutch (automat plus disc) the pwer to push the pedal has reduced a lot. When I hat the old clutch in my car, I have mounted a cylinder with a piston with less diameter. After this change, the force to push t...
