Urgent / Help needed in Edinburgh. Anybody near ?
Help needed urgent in Edinburgh- Hey guys, we flew to Scotland today with Ryanair, and they lost our baggage / there are hundreds of bags all over the place, unfriendly police who know nothing… its a mess. We are now in an appartment at Royal Mile, for this and the next night, and main problem is to...

Re: Girling Power Stop 5204 in D-Type ?
Hi, I tried to join, but did not get any response yet. Here are some pictures- as you can see, your feet are in some kind of tunnel, where the pedals are. On top of the tunnel there is an arm which actuates a cylinder which actuates 2 cylinders, and that setup can be adjusted. Hard to describe, easy...

Re: Girling Power Stop 5204 in D-Type ?
Ok I was now told that a standard E Type servo would not fit in the chassis of the D, so they fitted a normal master brake cylinder with 2 outlets. And put two 5204 units into the sill, which get actuated by the two master cyl outlets. How is a „normal“ D type replica constructed - is this the „norm...

Re: Girling Power Stop 5204 in D-Type ?
Hey guys, Thats interesting. I will get pictures of their installation. The car belongs to PS Speicher, Europe‘s biggest vehicle collection. Its basically a Lynx I think, was an E- Type S2 coupe former in its life, and has an alloy body. We talked about it ages ago I think. Did I not upload pictures...

Girling Power Stop 5204 in D-Type ?
Morning,
A friend of mine has problems with his alloy D-Type replica.
He says both brake servos are more or less defective / rotten, and said they are Power Stop 5204 units, 2 of them.
They seem to be rather expensive- any advice where to buy, or send them away to be overhauled ?

Moin Sepp,
There are some other germans around in this place, even with S 1 2+2 cars, albeit mine is a year older than your daily…
Schöne Grüße,

Uh well, life got a bit in the way, but now, bonnet is primered. Hope to have it back in a few weeks. But as Covid figures are exploding hereover, that may be just a wish. We bought another classic in the meantime, an U427.115 (no thats not a german sub), its a Unimog. We‘re building an offroad camp...

Why did they never include them in production cars, maybe as a Sports option ?

Optima red top. The die when un-loaded to deep, but when they are treated nicely, they deliver an enormous current.

I can take pics from mine, but from memory this is what I did, 2 pipes 4 clamps to fill the gap.
Originally the 2-1-2 situation is located roughly there.

Yes hight set, 185/15 original spec, new Dunlop original spec rims, and as I said I‘ll leave it for now, so it‘ll settle and I‘ll get back in a few months (hopefully).

Camber: 1deg pos but without shims ?
… I found 0.75-1 deg pos camber front left. Front right was pos 2 degs. I have the trakrite gauge and a selfmade angled bar plus tipped-edge distance bolts and I trued the gauge vs a long builders spirit level. I have now pos 75 on the right side, and something like pos 0.6 on the left, after settin...

Re: Bonnet: dished lip around front lights ?
For me, it‘s ok. I think it is a bit dark, so I often tend to not use it- but for longer seams it is certainly useful. Just when you do spots - too dark, then you weld, and then if its a spot only, it gets black, but until you have adapted to that, the spot is finished. The 2+2: just going to the pa...
