The retaining ring takes the brass contact, and the cut out locates the horn push to stop horn push spinning round. Also without retaining ring it would just fall out. The ring is the stop to locate it on the centre, because without it the hub cap badge is the same diameter as the hole.

The badges were only glued in and are the same size as the horn push but missing the retaining ring. Also badge too flat... needs to be ground and polished to create the correct radius to match the original. The badge on the hub caps has to be modified to use it as a horn push, its missing the thin retaining ring on its base. aluminium tags on master cylinders on 63 3.8
Can anyone tell what is stamped on the tags, I know that the front brake master is DOM which is date of manufacture and vbm 4705.But what about the rear and clutch ?

clutch master cylinder
Has anyone used the Dunlop style master cylinder for there 3.8, from XKs unlimted or Welshnet mine has the later Girling type fitted and want it to at least look more original.

Horn push
Bit of an anorak moment,just watching the Autocar test drive of the new lightweight e type. Horn push is a modern replica part the Jaguars head ears are in the white squares not the black of the original part.
