Re: SNG Barratt User Group
I am not a restorer as I use Angus for most of my stuff - I want to know it works properly! I would be happy to input on the commercial side, rather than the technical. I do have some views on the technical but strictly amateur. Happy to defer to others more wiser but also happy to fill a place if y...

The bit that gave it away for me was when the Ferrari went partly on the grass and twitched a fair bit. It then carried on as if it hadn't happened. If that had been real cue one wreacked Ferrari

Re: Speed limit Autobahn
That would be a shame. Always enjoyed that part of my summer drive to Hungary, giving it some welly. I always will remember talking to two British bikers in a service area in Austria. The complained how everyone drove so fast in Germany, and clearly didn't care aout the speed limit :questionmarks: I...

Marek, who is active on this site, sells a conversion of the rear lights with led reversing lights built in. I have them and they are incredibly bright. Well worth an investment and a proven fitment.

Re: Thought and Contemplation
A lot of interesting comments and thoughts. I'm now using my London bus pass but not yet at retirement age, so qualify as partly an old fogey! I love old cars but I think careers, partying then family put these way down the list. The other point is that modern cars can be leased quite easily and I s...

Re: This does not feel right
In my forty years plus in business I can tell you that certain things never change. These include:- 1. As a unsecured creditor of a failed business, there is never a chance of seeing a penny back once the "administrator" or his advisors puts in their fees. 2. Most businesses that have assets do a pr...

Re: VIN number
Yves Whilst "American Football" is much rougher than "Football", it is played using around three tonnes of padding and around 40 players per team, who take it in turns to prance around for a while. It is a complete bastardisation of Rugby, where real men play. Having thrown in that particular hand g...

Re: London Auction
I've watched the case with interest and it smells. I remember walking around there during the 2016 E-Type run. It was a definite case of "kid in the sweet shop" as building after building revealed yet more delicacies! My E-Type looked positvely rubbish compared to what was there. What a turn around ...

Re: Electric E-type from Jaguar
One thing no-one is considering in this debate is the ability of the power grid to supply. I read an article last year that said most american suburban streets only have the capacity to cope with at most 30-35% of houses having electric cars being charged every night alongside the normal energy dema...

Richard SGS are a worldwide inspection company that are probably No.1 in surveying cargos. I use them for my steel shipments sometimes. What I would question is whether they are suitably qualified to inspect cars to determine their history? I would make sure that you get a car specialist, not just a...

Re: Wheel: what Tightening torque
David I have a repro set for my S2 federal spinners, bought at Stoneleigh in my early innocent days of ownership. I've fitted two so far without trouble but from this thread it sounds like I should use the originals. Given that they are marked from constant use, is it feasible to re-chrome them succ...

Re: MOT Time!!
Hi Julian My understanding was that you have to declare the car as tax free when it turns 40. Once you have done that you get the usual renewal form, which you have to renew, but it costs nothing. The MOT is, as far as i understand not linked and completely voluntary, you choose to do or not to do -...

I don't know if the same system is still in place but twenty years or so ago my boss bought an old ford pop to transfer the reg to his new merc. The authorities insisted that both vehicles must be taxed, insured and mot'd in order to make the transfer. This meant I got to drive a brand new 5 series ...

Re: New MOT rules
I definately will get mine done every year just as an independant check. The guy who tested mine last month loves old cars and builds hot rods. He said that if you have a major accident then it is good if you can show the a piece of paper that says it was tested and complied with the rules at that p...
