Re: trim color

Thank you for your replies!

I think it will be best to order some larger samples (bisquit looks good) and then try to find the one that
looks best (including the opinion of my wife!)

trim color

Hello forum members I'm wondering which trim color my 1971 E has had when it left the factory. The heritage certificate indicates "beige". At the moment the car is trimmed in black but I have found some original sections under the seats trimmed in beige vinyl. I have got samples of beige vinyl from ...

Re: Fan Motors

The original connectors were moulded rubber male/ female Lucas bullet type two way connector. Kevin is right, the brush kit doesn't include the rubber connector whichI'm looking for. Too bad Autosparks doesn't sell them, they inlude them in their looms bot don't provide cables for the fan motors. O...

Fan Motors

Hello Forum Colleagues, the pre owner of my car has ruined the cooling fan connectors of my S3. Now I'm looking for replacement parts but I can't find a supplier who sells just the short fan motor cables including connectors or the connector sleeves (rubber) alone (I have asked Autosparks already) c...

Re: Cable/Hose

ah, very interesting.
:thankyouyellow:
Might be my E doesn't have it because it is a german car which doesn't have the Emission Control System used in the US.

Dear colleagues,

can someone tell me which cable/hose goes through the left side grommet in the trunk?
I have marked it in the attached photo.

Thanks for help

My SNG replacement system has the vacuum the vacuum port on the same side like the original one.
So I think it will fit and have the correct functionality.

Re: Changing Automatic Transmission Fluid

Dear forum colleagues, I totally agree. If the transmission has no problems I would just perform the normal oil change and also change the filter. When you remove the oil pan you can see if there is some debris. If everything is normal just clean it anf fill up new oil. Changing several times is muc...

Re: Still many issues to solve on my series 3

Hi, If you have now isolated the kickdown switch cable properly (or reconnected it) there should be no problem. I think a fuse should burn before a relay. Perhaps I was inaccurate before. The switching voltage for the relays and the kickdown has a fuse in the dashboard. The current for fans and horn...

Re: Still many issues to solve on my series 3

Hello Jerome, because the fans and horn are connected with the same fuse I would firstly disconnect one cirquit. For example the fans (just remove the + cable from the relay) If the horns work and the fuse doesn't burn then it must be a problem with the fan wiring. If you don't want to waste the gla...

Re: Still many issues to solve on my series 3

Hi,

on my S3 the fan and horn fuse is not in the dashbord.
It is a single 50A fuse in the engine wire harness, right side of the engine above the battery.

Did you check this fuse?

Re: S3 body

Hello John, That's my idea. For me it' s no problem to bring the car to UK. I have already visited UK during a Major Ivan Hirst (who rescued Volkswagen) memorial tour. We took the ferry from Rotterdam. Also Calais Dover is no problem, a trailer is available. I think it' a better idea to look for som...

Re: S3 body

Hello Julien, Thank you for your reply. In Germany it is difficult to find a workshop. In my area exerienced specialists retire and have no sucessor. I have one where they have done my VW T3. But they have no jigs for Jaguar and are not specialized in british cars. I think about bringing the body to...

S3 body

Dear forum colleagues, This year I will try to get my 1971 S3 running. Mechanical things I will repair by myself. But it needs a lot of body repair work and I think it will be difficult to do it by myself. :hammerdrill: I have not welded something for nearly 30 years and have no experience with E ty...

sealed beam

Dear forum friends, replacing a front park light bulb I found that my car is equipped with sealed beam headlights (one has the number 2 on top of the glass, the other one not). It is an original german LHD, not a re imported car. I thought sealed beam was not legal in Germany. :seeingstars: Perhaps ...

If you want a cheap solution then why donˋt you repair your pump.
New points and diaphragm and thats it.
