That is not the bypass its the air bleed vent..havent seen that little "jiggle pin" in there before but its quite typical for them to be fitted to a thermostat. It lets air bleed back. The thermostat isn't stuck in the houseing that you've removed is it?.. Steve

Possibly the adjuster is seized...try giving it a few taps...even if you can't slacken the chain you may still be able to dismantle both sprockets on the camshafts...Steve

Why have you removed the bolts holding the cams to the sprockets...what are you trying to do... to adjust the upper chain you slacken the adjuster center nut...fully press in the locking pin.. look close the pin has serrations..press in till they dissengage..then you can turn the adjuster clockwise ...

Iv never blown through the check valve...however manifold vacume is "sucked" at the top creating a vacume in the tank and the servo. When engine is switched off the vacume in the tank still holds a vacume in the servo... there is a detailed drawing in the service manual showing the brake system and ...

BAS will send you samples....dont order unless you have seen an exact sample ...dont forget these are new materials/vinyl so colours will not be exactly the same as from the Jaguar factory....Steve

Hi Rory... both links still work for me...it takes you to funky power then you search on their site...but here is a link direct to the NRG slim units on their site...also the ebay link to the spacer still works....the NRG slim is the only one iv used and can reccomend...there are units on ebay that ...

What fans are you useing....in front of the radiator or between radiator and engine...the later is the way to go with a correct cowl fitted to the radiator..

As your aware when the key is turned to the cranking position it should still supply 12v to the coil...so sounds like a switch problem....Iv used various switches from xj6 models... they physically fit but you need to check what the internal contacts are doing and possibly do a bit of re...
