Re: Modern and fun
Now that could be described as greedy! So the obvious question is, which is the favourite?? I know what mine is and it begins with an E!.... Horses for courses! The F Type is a V6S with 0-60 in around 4.6, it's an incredible car. Can use it every day and have fun at the same time. The F Type sounds...

Re: series 3 vs Series 1
interesting discussion...from an aesthetic point of view I would prefer a combination of series 3 and series 1: the series 3 OTS body, but with the short wheelbase of series 1. The wheelbase and the doors of series 3 are simply much too long. But this is just my personal opinion. Nevertheless, I ha...

Re: Touring New Zealand
Hi Chris, All our luggage was in the car, but luckily for us we didn't have any problems. Wonderful roads and stunning scenery, only wish I had the e type here. Waterfalls, mountains, rivers, gorges, a very pleasant and very green land! Off to Queenstown South Island on Monday finishing up after ano...

Also visited the Southward Car Museum about 40km outside Wellington. Can definitely recommend it. On our way to South Island on Monday. Unfortunately not with the E Type!

Touring New Zealand
We are currently touring New Zealand . We started in Auckland and are now in Wellington. On the way from Bulls to Foxton on state highway 1 we spotted a dark series one coupe travelling in the opposite direction.

Hi Kevin,
In a word, no.

Re: Which connector is this?
Thank you to post an answer. I started from so far on my restoration that I’ll not have a 100% original car anyway. I’ve an XJS engine (I'm still questionning myself :scratchheadyellow: about the ECU to be used. We already have exchanged about that)and a Getrag gearbox. So I’m already very far from...

Hi Ben, Welcome to the forum. You will find a wealth of E Type knowledge here, if you have any problems it's highly likely that someone on here will have come up against them before and will be able to offer you good advice. Your shell looks very presentable and as you say there doesn't seem to much...

Re: S3 Hardtop
Hi Markus, It attaches at the front windscreen to the same fixings as the soft top. There are no fixings on the rear but there are two fixing points on each side just behind the seats that are bolted into place. Suggest you use some clear film to cover the rear panel, such as the type of paint prote...

Re: Is ethanol free fuel still available?
Statement just received today direct from Esso for their UK supply................ The E5 sticker on the Synergy Supreme+ petrol pumps was introduced to ensure Esso complies with the Government's standards on labelling of fuel labelling – see https://knowyourfuel.campaign.gov.uk/. The E5 label means...

Re: Tuning Problems V12
Hi Wolfgang
An interesting idea, but for now I will run it without ducted cooling and see where we are.
I think the main issue with over heating on these units comes from heat soak, so may be ok on the picture frame away from the very high temperatures of the engine block.
Kind regards
Mike

Re: Tuning Problems V12
Thanks all for your very helpful comments.
Pete, it is indeed the old Opus finned amplifier with new module inside.
Ross, will look at moving it along a bit but I am slightly restricted by the length of the wiring from the coil/ballast resistor.
Thanks

Re: Tuning Problems V12
Hi Pete
This unit DAB113HE was originally used on the XJS HE. SNG Barratt tech guys seemed to think it was a good solution to mount it on the picture frame. If I fit it on the block I fear it will fail again so a bit of a catch 22 situation .

Re: Tuning Problems V12
Amplifier now re-sighted on the picture frame under the header tank. Mounted longitudinally in front of the picture frame using a new header tank bracket. Manufactured a metal strip to hold the amplifier using both bolt holes. Then added a dedicated earth wire to the engine block. https://i.postimg....
