#1 Another new boy...

Post by Tango 401 » Tue Sep 19, 2017 3:32 pm

Hi one and all, I'm new to the forum but have owned my 'E' for six years (modified 3.8 FHC).Could I kick off by asking if anyone knows where I can obtain the screws that secure the seat runners to the floor pan? Loads of places seem to do the runners but not the screws, even the normally reliable SNG Barratt does not list them.

Welcome to the forum. Sorry I can't answer your question but I know from my experience on here you'll find lots of generously given help.

Something that always helps is if you include your name and car in your signature then we'll know what is the best info for you. Yes, you've stated a 3.8, but it's more for future reference.

Let us know more about yourself and the car. Photos too

Hi Brian. Welcome. I live within a mile of a shop called the Nut and Bolt Store. And that's pretty much what they sell. Unless the bolt/screws are somehow unique, they'll almost certainly stock what you need. They are in the Portland Road, Hove. I think they may have an online presence trading as Namrick.

You can usually work out the correct size from the part number using the fasteners guide in the KB.

Brian, nice photos, did you do the modifications? And do you race the car yourself?

Hi Geoff, I bought the car already modified and I am gradually making changes to suit my tastes and to make it a little more user friendly. It is great fun to drive and i have done a couple of hill climbs but I don't do racing as I can't afford to bend it!

Hi Brian
A car very similar to yours went roaring past me heading W on the A27 last Sunday afternoon about 4pm. Lewes area? Wasn't you was it? I'd been to The Ram at Firle where there was a BRG 1968?? S 1.5 FHC parked. It had a Webasto roof.
You rarely see an E Type and within 10 mins a saw 2!!

Well spotted Andy! That was us, on our way home, having taken part in the Bo Peep Hillclimb at Firle.
There were two other E types taking part (as well as loads of other interesting cars) ,both green.

Cheers
