#1 First new member 2018?

Post by edriver » Wed Jan 03, 2018 7:53 pm

I own my 63 FHC for 21 months and only now came across this forum. Admittedly, I have never searched the net for one. I hope that my questions will not bore you to death and I promise to search through older posts.
Right now my E sits in my small shop and I have started to install a new interior. I have not much experience in this type of work, even though I work for an automotive supplier. That is in short also my fascination with the E-Type: it is so simple compared to today's cars, but it is not too simple not to challenge me. I hope that you'll bear with me through good and bad days... :thankyouyellow:

p.s:I have noticed the dead links to pictures hosted by photobucket - I hope that I find an alternative to show you a picture or two.

Welcome Klaus. This is the best forum in the entire solar system.
To add photos, just click on "add image to post" at bottom left. It's really easy and works perfectly.
Unlike Photobucket which no longer works....

Klaus, welcome to the forum. Lots of friendly people on here to answer your questions, with several in Germany who might give local knowledge.
There are several reputable suppliers of interior trim, mainly here in Britain, who can provide you with a complete set of carpets, leather and vinyl, plus all the extra items needed to fit it.

Good luck

Work in progress. Right now everything came to a halt, because I caught the flu.

Klaus

Good luck with the build.

I assume you mean "man flu", which women call a cold

Man flu is of course extremely serious. Here's the definition:

Man-Flu
1. Man-Flu is more painful than childbirth. This is an irrefutable scientific fact*.
*(Survey of over 100,000 men)
2. Man-Flu is not 'just a cold'. It is a condition so severe that the germs from a single Man-Flu sneeze could wipe out entire tribes of people living in the rainforest.
3. Women do not contract Man-Flu. They suffer from what is medically recognised as a 'Mild Girly Sniffle' – which, if a man caught, he would still be able to run, tear the phone book in half and compete in all other kinds of manly activities.
4. Men do not 'moan' when they have Man-Flu. They emit involuntary groans of agony that are entirely in proportion to the unbearable pain they are in.
5. More men die each year from MFN (Man-Flu Neglect) than lots and lots of other things. (Like rabbit attacks or choking on toast).
6. Men suffering from Man-Flu want nothing more than to get out of bed and come to work, but they are too selfless to risk spreading this awful condition amongst their friends and colleagues. In this sense, they are the greatest heroes ever known.
7. Man-Flu germs are more powerful than superman and The A-Team combined. They are too strong for weak, nasty tasting 'lady medicines' like Lemsip, so don't bother trying to force them on a victim of Man-Flu.
8. While it may seem like a Man-Flu sufferer is just lying around enjoying 'Diagnosis Murder' it’s a recognised medical fact that the exact pitch and frequency of Dick Van Dyke's voice has remarkable soothing powers.
Male1: I think I have Man-Flu?!

Male2: OMG, do we have time to call an Ambulance? I'm so sorry, you will be missed!

I see! The forum helps not only with car problems, but can also ease health problems. I had never heard of Man-Flu before

I shall get my wife's view on this, I am sure she will see the logic you have put forward.
