#1 Jaguar v Jaguar

Post by dereksharpuk » Thu Feb 01, 2018 8:46 pm

Hi all, I possible am the only one here to drive a Jaguar down the A5 thro Wales over 700 mph. Short pause before anyone calls me a liar or mad :) But it is true. I'm also the proud owner of a very beautiful Series 2 Roadster which restoration will be finished very soon. Which Jaguar do I like best? Well Aunties Betty owned the fast one, so there is a clue. Answers on a postcard.......

Well I never “drove” one, but I regularly used to “run” one, mine was a 1+1!*

Jet noise. The sound of freedom.

*I was usually the +1.

Derek and Simon : which squadron(s) were you? Did you know my former colleague Stephen Friday , who was on no.6 for many years, and indeed survived a mid-air collision in his Jaguar at Spadeadam

Ah! Just realised from the article in the latest E-type magazine who you are. Well done - I thoroughly enjoyed reading about your superb Bulldog restoration in Pilot a while back. Good luck with the E-type restoration - I'm sure it will be a walk in the park by comparison! :salute:

Simon, no E Type restoration is a 'walk in the park'. But at least parts are available, unlike those for a Bulldog.
