#1 I'm new here....Elliott

Post by elliottS » Thu May 24, 2018 2:24 am

I have had a 69 'E' for about 1 month. Its been sitting for a while so fighting small problems here and there. I still have a TR6 of which I am trying to sell. I am just finding out where to go for parts and places to do things on it that I cannot do. Right now the alternator is out for new bearings and so I hope to have a quieter running motor. I've already recieved help with sticky brakes. Thanks. Elliott

Hi Elliott,

Welcome from me too - you will get nothing but help and advice here. It’s a wonderful source of material and advice.

One thought from me. Are you sure it’s the Alternator bearings? I was convinced with exactly the same noisy front end and your theory. Stripped the front end off this winter for rad re-core and general tidy up and realised the belt tensioner bearing was completely worn out.

New one fitted from SNGB and she is a different car.

Just a thought.

Cheers
Ash
