My name is Peter I am a retired scientific instrument maker. I have 2 E-Type series 2. One is a roadster 1971 the other is a 2+2 coupe 1970. Both in running order, ongoing improvments in progress i.e. Barrett hand break compensator, new brake servos etc. It is a life time love of E Types, first one owned 50 years ago, kids arrived E Type went. Kids finally gone and now got back to the E Types. Hope there are more of us in the South West UK.

Peter, welcome to the forum. We'll enjoy hearing more of your E Types, both from years gone by and your present examples. You'll get lots of help and advice on here. From your years of ownership you might be able to help others

While I am not in Cornwall now, I will be in a few weeks time for a week. I’ve hired a cottage for the week, going to visit a few NT sites, watch the sun setting from Land’s End, drive around a bit.

Welcome Peter. Looks like you have all your bases covered with a roadster and a 2+2.

Not quite. Just needs a Series Land Rover to get to the places an E Type can't quite reach. Maybe a 420G for those special times with friends and family too.

Thank you everybody for such a warm welcome.
Hi Chris if you use the A30 to get to your cottage I am about 1 mile off that road, you are welcome for an en route coffee break to say hello. I had one or two early Land Rovers, and I love meccano!

Peter, I'll send you a PM.
I'm also on the A30 (OK 400metres off the A30.). I could drive the whole way there and not leave the A30 until the very end!

Welcome to the forum, Peter. Sounds like an ideal setup with your two cars. I look forward to hearing about your stories on and off the road.
Out of pure (scientific) curiosity, from one scientist to another, what "instruments" did you make?

Hi Simon Thanks for your interest. I have been involved with many fields such as microscopy, gemmology, sample preparation, radar, analogue machine tool control systems etc. mainly anything requiring precise engineering and I loved it. Good luck in your finals and hope your dream comes true with regarding an E-type
Regards Peter
