#1 New Member from Ontario Canada

Post by MikeMilton » Thu Nov 29, 2018 5:39 pm

Hi, All

I a long time owner of E-Types who has just set out on a restoration adventure for my 1971 2-seater coupe. It has been patiently waiting since being parked in 1979, but its time has finally arrived.

Here is a shot from the day it arrived home:

Hi, Mike and again, welcome to the forum of loonies! I took a look at some of your photos other than the E type and it made me nostalgic for Ontario, specifically, northern Ontario. Wonderful country with gorgeous lakes and fantastic fishing. I can't think of a better final day than to take my E Type, drive to one of those lakes (most of those I've fished have been via fly-in) and having the Big One while reeling in the Big One. They'd bury me with a smile on my face! Keep us updated.

Hi Mike. Welcome to the forum. Always nice to see another fellow Canuck. Must admit I also snuck a look at some of the other photos. As a prarie resident I have always been jealous of the Ontario lake country. Unfortunately our lakes are not nearly as picturesque.

Thanks for the welcome! I switched my avatar to a pick of my FHC on the day I bought it. It is much nicer looking than I am and will soon be restored to its prime condition (which I won't)

Cheers,

Hi, Keith

Wow - that is a lot of work showing in those pictures. Alexander Plestid (in the picture above) is doing my restoration. The work I've seen of his is nothing short of spectacular.

I DO have a next-in-line for work, this 1962 OTS sitting in front of the FHC in my drive from the late 1970s

Wow
Two E-Types. Double the fun ! That is only a fraction of the work done to the 67. As I say though give me a shout if you need a hand or tools. Regardless, I should drop by next driving season and say hello. I will be looking to put some miles on the rebuilt engine.
Regards
Keith

Keith,

We should definitely make some time to get together.

If you are an OJOA member, perhaps we could drive over there one month for their evening meeting. I rejoined after decades recently (mostly looking to see if I could locate old friends). Not much luck with that, but there is another ex-OJOA person in Peterborough.
