#1 My Second E-Type

Post by Elipper » Tue Nov 12, 2019 12:20 pm

I own a 65 OTS and recently purchased this 1969 Coupe. Now that I have two Etypes I figured it was time to join the forum. The car is numbers matching but the original transmission which comes with the car is not in the car because it has the Tremec 5 Speed. It was also converted from Strombergs to SU's with the complete kit from Burlin. I was not really looking for a concours car but, rather, one that was a great driver and that would be good for weekend car shows.

My 65 OTS is the car for the concours and it was done by Classic Showcase. The work on this Coupe was done by British European Motors in Cotati, California to a very high standard. A couple of cheats in the restoration that were ok by me were the "A-arms" and oil pan were powder coated rather than bead blasted. The glass in the car is reproduction. The steering wheel is 1" smaller than the stock wheel. My plan is to put the correct reproduction air cleaner on the car so it looks right and then put some miles on her. I am located in Houston, Texas and have a collection of various other cars.

Eric, welcome to the forum, though some of us may envy you for the number of cars you have!
This is a great source for information, help and advice with a sprinkling of humour thrown in.
Some of us don't worry about concours, preferring to drive them than polish them, but each to their own and let us know more about your cars as you put in the miles

Welcome Eric.

A great bunch of enthusiasts on here. The knowledge is incredible.

But, there again, so is your car collection!

Cheers

Nice to be here. I have owned the 65 OTS for a while and meant to join the board. I look forward to the education.
