#1 A lover of the E-type Jaguar in France

Post by BAHADORI » Thu Jan 28, 2021 1:41 pm

Hello everybody,

I just realized that it's been more than 8 years I am on this forum, and I never introduced myself ... It is never too late to do well!

My name is Jacques, I am 51 years old and I am an electronics and computer engineer. A fan of fine mechanics since I was young, I fell in love with the E-type Jaguar when I was 20 years old.
So I bought one to restore in 2001, a 1966 1 4.2 series convertible in very bad condition, on which I left part of my youth ... having done mechanics, sheet metal work (re-manufacture, forming) and saddlery all alone.
In short, I spent 4000 hours restoring, or rather rebuilding, this machine.

After having abandoned the beautiful English car for 5 years because of "fed up", I restarted my restoration in mid-2011, to finish it in 2017.

Today, I have the urge to look at my 504 V6 convertible, bought in 1995, and stored away since 1996. The mechanics are in good condition, but the hull is badly damaged by corrosion. There is a crazy job, but this is the car of my 25th birthday ...

In addition, I had other pleasant cars like Fiat coupe, 16v turbo version then 20v turbo, an Alfa Brera 3.2 Q4 and currently a BMW 335i e92 which is really great.

Voici quelques photos des travaux de carrosserie et de l'état initial de la voiture le jour de l'achat.

Best Regards.

Jacques

For fun, I am also enclosing the photo of my Peugeot 504 V6 convertible, today, in all its forms ...

Best Regards.

One of the nicest cars we ever had was a 504Ti , quiet , refined, with an unrivalled ride even in comparison with my XJ6 which I had at the same time , and fast enough in those days . The cabriolet V6 will be lovely when it is finished

Jacques, welcome to the forum! A little bit late as you say but it’s good to see people tell us their story and show us their cars. In Britain we would say you are a glutton for punishment, always finding more work to give yourself!
