Help with heating ventilation controls on dashboard
#1 Help with heating ventilation controls on dashboard
Hi there,
I have finally managed to buy my e type Jaguar. It’s took many years of saving, but at 61 years of age…I have a signal red series 3 e type and I love it!!!
I thought I knew my way around an e type but I am struggling with how the heating & ventilation works from the dashboard….can anyone help? I have added a photo which I have marked up and I am just trying to understand how they all work together. Thank you.

4 and 5 are the confusing ones! "4" is on when pushed in, off when out. "5" is hot when in, cold when out. The other controls are different to mine so don't know.

How about adding your name (and car type) to your signature. Accessed from clicking on your user name. We can be more polite that way and for other questions people will know how to answer appropriately. Owners manuals are available and will help you understand the heating and other controls.

Hi ?
Congratulations on getting your S3. It appears to be a 1971or 72 LHD 2+2 auto with A/C and if ex USA may still have all the emissions kit under the bonnet. This kit is only covered in the US versions of the handbook (red or tan colored covers) so would be the best version to go for. If you don't want that information then the ROW blue cover version will do and also covers A/C in the H&V section. To get you going here are the relevant pages - although how helpful they will be I am not sure.

By the end of production Jaguar had added a couple of extra labels but I will leave you to judge how much help they give.

Craig, if you look at your user name top right (below the e-type club emblem) there is a down arrow. Click on there and you'll find you can go into your signature area. You can then add details of name, car type, etc.
